The Bronze Cow and Bronze Panda are unique buildings that come with the Cities: Skylines Financial Districts DLC.
These two assets are basically identical in stats, and they differ only in appearance.
To unlock both of these buildings you need to do a few things:
- Reach the Big Town population milestone (between 1,800 – 8,000 population, depending on the map)
- Build a Stock Exchange
- Have the Stock Exchange reach level 2 (₡50,000 in investment gains)
Once these requirements are met, you’ll be able to build both the Bronze Cow and Bronze Panda from the Financial Buildings tab of the Unique Buildings menu. Each building costs ₡20,000 to build and ₡320 weekly in upkeep.
Here’s a quick step-by-step guide on how to unlock them:
Step 1: Placing a Stock Exchange
Reaching the Big Town milestone unlocks the Financial Buildings tab of the Unique Buildings menu.
From there, you’ll be able to build the Stock Exchange for ₡60,000. It costs ₡960/week in upkeep.
The Stock Exchange gives you access to the investment mechanics of the game, which you’ll need in order to unlock the Bronze Cow and Panda, as well as several other financial unique buildings.
Step 2: Making Investments to Level Up Your Stock Exchange
Once you have a Stock Exchange, you’ll want to get started with investments and managing your total amount invested.
Here’s how to get there:
Click on the Economy tab and go to the Investments tab.
It will bring up a panel from which you can purchase and sell stocks.
The left side of the panel shows you the companies you can purchase stocks from.
Click on one that you want to invest in.
From the panel that comes up, you’ll need to select how many stocks you wish to purchase.
Stock prices rise and fall with each in-game day. To make money, you’ll want to buy stocks at a low price then sell at a high price.
On the right side of your window here you’ll be able to see your investments, and whether or not you’ll make or lose money if you are to sell those stocks at that moment.
Any stock gains you make will count towards leveling up.
Losses will not be counted against your leveling progress (however, this will of course still mean your city loses money, which is never great!)
Step 3: Unlocking Level 2 of the Stock Exchange
Once you’ve made ₡50,000 in investment gains (you’ll hear a notification chime), you’ll be able to unlock Level 2 for your Stock Exchange building.
So at that point you can just upgrade the Stock Exchange for ₡15,000.
You’ll then be able to build both the Bronze Cow and the Bronze Panda from the Financial Buildings Tab of the Unique Buildings menu for ₡20,000 each.
If you continue to make money from buying and selling stocks, you’ll be able to level up your Stock Exchange 3 more times to unlock new buildings:
Level | Investment Gains Target | Cost to Upgrade | Unique Building Unlocked |
---|---|---|---|
2 | ₡50,000 | ₡15,000 | Bronze Cow & Bronze Panda |
3 | ₡250,000 | ₡30,000 | Elevated Plaza |
4 | ₡750,000 | ₡60,000 | Underground Garden Plaza |
5 | ₡1,500,000 | ₡120,000 | International Trade Building |
