The Fan Zone Park is a unique building that comes with the Cities: Skylines Concerts DLC.

To unlock the Fan Zone Park and build it, you just need to build a Festival Area first. You’ll also need to reach the Tiny Town milestone (360 – 1,600 population, depending on the map).

Building a Festival Area

You can make a Festival Area from the Concerts tab of the Unique Building menu for ₡60,000.

The Festival Area has no other prerequisites apart from reaching the Tiny Town milestone. So once you’re at that milestone you can build a Festival Area & then build your Fan Zone Park too.

Note: The Festival Area is a loud building, so you’ll want to keep this away from your residences.

Once built, the Festival Area will hold concerts around once every 6 months.

Building the Festival Area immediately unlocks the Fan Zone Park. You’ll find them next to each other on the Concerts tab.

What is the Fan Zone Park For?

The Fan Zone Park is supposedly where the fans who can’t fit in the main venue (Festival Area) can go to enjoy the concert on large screens.

Whenever a musician is performing, you’ll see visitors flock to the Fan Zone Park as well as the Festival Area.

According to the tooltip, having a Fan Zone Park increases the chance of a successful concert by 5%.

Gaining Popularity

With each concert, the performer has a chance of gaining or losing popularity; a successful concert means the performer gained popularity.

If you can afford the initial build cost & ongoing upkeep costs, it’s a good idea to build the Fan Zone Park – especially if you’re hoping to upgrade your Festival Area to level 3.

That’s because upgrading requires getting at least one performer to hit certain popularity numbers:

  • 2-star upgrade: 70 popularity
  • 3-star upgrade: 85 popularity

As well as its synergy with the Festival Area, the Fan Zone Park also functions as a regular unique building, providing entertainment and attracting tourists on its own.

With its relatively low upkeep (₡240) and high entertainment value (100) and visitor capacity (375), it’s worth having in your city.
