Map Overview

Woodgarden is a map from the Cities: Skylines Industries DLC.

This boreal map features a complex network of rivers in the middle of the map, separating the largest land masses. Various smaller islands are scattered throughout as well.

Despite not having oil, Woodgarden is still a pretty good map for specialized industry as it has fertile land, forest, and ore in abundance.

Starting Tile

Your starting tile has two areas of land separated by a river, with the initial highway connection coming in from the north.

Along the riverbanks you’ll find strong enough winds to get max output (8MW) out of a starting wind turbine.

External Connections

Woodgarden has three out of the four external connection types:

  • Highway
  • Railway
  • Air

There is no open sea on this map, so no external ship connection.

There are two external highway connections, one on each of the two large land masses in the north and in the south of the map.

The railway connection might be a little hard to see at first, but it runs parallel to the southeastern highway connection.

There’s plenty of flat land for building airports all over this map.

Natural Resources

There are no oil deposits in Woodgarden. But the other three natural resource types (fertile land, forest, and ore) can be found in abundance.

The northern landmass has plenty of fertile land and forest. These resources are also conveniently near the external highway, so you’ll have an easy time planning out your industry area.

Patches of ore resources can be found near the river.

Fishing

All four types of fish (anchovy, salmon, shellfish, and tuna) can be found in the rivers of Woodgarden.

There’s fish in all of the rivers, so you’ll be able to build your fishing industry in various parts of the map.

First Expansions

North Tile

The tile north of your starting area gives you a larger chunk of the landmass, and includes the northern highway junction.

There’s plenty of fertile land and forest here.

East Tile

This tile gives you a large piece of the land in the southeast. This is an attractive option if you’re hoping to get access to the outside railway eventually.

This tile is rich in fertile land as well.

South Tile

Of the four tiles adjacent to your starting tile, this is perhaps the least practical for your first expansion.

Although it does give you the remaining half of the island from your start tile, much of this tile is water.

There is ore on this part of the island, though, so you may want to have access to it early on for your industry.

West Tile

Just like the north tile, this one also gives you a large section of the northern landmass, with plenty of fertile land and forest.
