  4. Defeat the last set of patrols at The Peaks (X:29.8, Y:31.1).
  5. Lie in wait at the final destination point in The Peaks (X:30.0, Y:31.2).

Detailed Unlocking Guide

The Level 69 MSQ “The Price of Freedom” is locked behind the patch 4.0 main story of the Stormblood expansion.

So you’ll need to finish every MSQ leading up to it, including every MSQ from the previous expansions to unlock the quest.

After doing so, talk to Alphinaud in The Peaks (X:26.6, Y:29.8) to begin.

In this part of the main story, you and your allies are focused on disabling the main cannon inside Castrum Abania so the Alliance and Resistance forces can assault from the front without worrying about incoming artillery.

After talking to Alphinaud, you’ll need to defeat Garlean mobs at The Peaks (X:27.5, Y:30.1) and (X:28.1, Y:30.2).

Once you’re done, talk to Stark Woad at (X:29.1, Y:31.2).

She’ll then point you toward the last set of patrols you’ll need to dispatch before you and your fellow scions can safely enter the castrum.

Defeat more enemies at The Peaks (X:29.8, Y:31.1) before heading to (X:30.0, Y:31.2) to begin the final cutscene.

A brief conversation will occur as your party prepares to infiltrate the castrum. Once you’ve finished the cutscene, Castrum Abania will be unlocked.

This dungeon requires at least a Level 69 Disciple of War of Magic job and an average item level of 260 to enter.
