FFXIV The Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Normal): Unlock + Dungeon Guide

Tam-tara Deepcroft dungeon interior in FFXIV

You can unlock the Level 16 normal-difficulty dungeon The Tam-Tara Deepcroft by accepting the Level 16 MSQ “Fire in the Gloom” from Mother Miounne in New Gridania (X:11.7, Y:13.5).

This is the second dungeon you’ll encounter in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Unlocking Quest: Fire in the Gloom

Start unlocking the dungeon by accepting the Level 16 Main Scenario Quest (MSQ) “Fire in the Gloom” from Mother Miounne.

Note that you’ll need to finish every MSQ leading up to “Fire in the Gloom” before it can be unlocked. Once you’ve unlocked the quest, head to New Gridania (X:11.7, Y:13.5) to begin.

Mother Miounne, joined shortly by Lewin the Archer’s Guild guild master, brings disturbing news from Tam-Tara Deepcroft.

A cult known as the Lambs of Dalamud has been sighted within the Deepcroft engaging in suspicious activities.

With the best men of Gridania scattered throughout the region to keep the Ixal at bay, there’s no one left to deal with the cult. Lewin asks for your help in dealing with the cult.

Talk to the Gods’ Quiver Bow posted outside the Deepcroft in Central Shroud (X:19.2, Y:28.1) to continue.

Upon arriving, you’ll learn more about the deranged cult and its origins from the bowman. After the quick history lesson, The Tam-Tara Deepcroft will be unlocked.

This dungeon requires at least a Level 16 Disciple of War or Magic job to enter and has no average item level requirement.

Miniboss: Void Soulcounters

To unlock the final boss, you’ll need to disable four cultist orbs within the dungeon. Each orb is guarded by a “Void Soulcounter” miniboss, with 3 in total.

You need to defeat each miniboss and disable their cultist orbs throughout the dungeon before you get to the final boss.

Mechanics

  • Dark Orb: A hard-hitting attack on the primary target. Heal the tank as necessary.
  • Condemnation: A frontal cone AoE. Always face the boss away from the party and sidestep the attack to avoid.
