The Dragon Skull is a Key Item that’s stolen from Lenora’s Gym & Museum shortly after you defeat her in battle. Once you’ve obtained the Basic Badge in Nacrene City, Team Plasma will break into the Museum and steal the Dragon Skull from its display.
Lenora asks that you give chase after the thieves, who have retreated to Pinwheel Forest to the west.
The Dragon Skull must be reclaimed before moving on in your journey.
How To Get the Dragon Skull (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: After defeating Lenora at the Nacrene City Gym, her husband Hawes will alert you both that Team Plasma is attempting to steal from the Museum.
Step 2: Lenora decides to stop the thieves, and will ask for your help.
Step 3: After Hawes and Lenora leave the room, exit by climbing the staircase towards the south.
Step 4: Once you’ve reached the library floor, continue south on this floor towards the exit.
Step 5: Continue south and exit into the Museum.
Step 6: Now inside the Museum, continue south down the staircase.
Step 7: At the bottom of the stairs, you’ll spot Team Plasma huddled around the dragon statue.
Step 8: Once Team Plasma has stolen the Dragon Skull from the statue, continue south and exit the Museum.
Step 9: After exiting the Museum, Gym Leader Burgh from Castelia City will greet you and Lenora outside.
Step 10: Lenora will direct you and Burgh to search Pinwheel Forest.
Step 11: Pinwheel Forest is located to the west from here, so start following the main road west.
Step 12: Keep west on the road, passing the outdoor patio.
Step 13: All the way at the end of this road you’ll find the entrance to Pinwheel Forest. So continue west past the NPC.
Step 14: Enter Pinwheel Forest at the very end, which is just past the Trainer Tips sign.
Step 15: Once inside the forest, head north and meet up with Burgh.
Step 16: Burgh will ask you to head west through the forest to try and find Team Plasma.
Step 17: Keep walking past the twins – you’ll spot a Team Plasma member straight ahead down the path.
Step 18: The Team Plasma member will challenge you to battle. After defeating them, they’ll reveal they don’t have the Dragon Skull.
Step 19: Another Team Plasma grunt is waiting for you just ahead to the west. So head towards them and they will challenge you to battle as well.
Step 20: After defeating this next grunt, they’ll also reveal that they don’t have the skull.
Step 21: Continue west through the forest, walking through the tall grass.
Step 22: You’ll spot a trainer with a backwards baseball hat to the west. Keep going past the trainer.
Step 23: After passing the trainer, veer north through the forest.
Step 24: Just ahead is a hollowed-out log that acts as a bridge. Head north through the log.
Step 25: After walking through the log, keep north under the log above.
Step 26: Once you’re past the log ahead, turn west through the tall grass.
Step 27: Follow the path around & turning south until you come across a log bridge leading up to a higher level. Head east up the log.
Step 28: A third Team Plasma grunt will be waiting at the end of the log to battle.
Step 29: After defeating this grunt, head north down the other log ramp ahead.
Step 30: Walk east from the end of the log, passing between the trees.
Step 31: Ahead to the east will be another log. Walk through the log veering north.
Step 32: A fourth and final Team Plasma member will be found at the end of the log, waiting to battle.
Step 33: After defeating this Team Plasma thief, you’ll receive the Dragon Skull.
Step 34: After receiving the skull, Lenora will appear and you’ll return the skull back to her.
Dragon Skull Uses
Even though the Dragon Skull is considered a Key Item, it can’t be used in any way.
In fact, once you recover the stolen skull, it will immediately be returned to Lenora.
The Dragon Skull serves no purpose for the rest of the story, and instead marks the first of many encounters you’ll have with Team Plasma.
