Where To Get TM03 Psyshock in Pokémon Black & White

TM03 Psyshock is on the ground within the Giant Chasm, which is located off of Route 13. You’ll need HM03 Surf and HM04 Strength to reach the TM’s location.

The Giant Chasm contains two different areas – a large cavern and a maze-like forest. TM03 Psyshock can be found in the middle of the forest maze.

But before you can reach the Giant Chasm, you must defeat the Elite Four and Team Plasma. So this TM is only available in the post-game.

TM03 Psyshock Location (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Starting at the Undella Town Pokémon Center, begin walking west and exit through the tunnel to Route 13.

Step 2: Head north on Route 13’s beach.

Step 3: Northwest of the beach is a staircase. Climb the stairs and head west.

Step 4: Continue on the path west, and then veer north after the Trainer Tips sign.

Step 5: Follow the grass path northwest past the two NPCs.

Step 6: Continue west, taking the stairs down to the beach.

Step 7: Use HM03 Surf at the shore here (facing east) and begin surfing across the ocean.

Step 8: Keep going east until you reach a patch of tall grass to the right. Then turn and surf north up a small passageway.

Step 9: Continue surfing north past the NPC on the shore holding a parasol.

Step 10: Continue along the north route across the water, passing by the line of rocks.

Step 11: You’ll just keep going north here, moving up through the narrow path of water.

Step 12: Eventually you’ll see a shoreline just up ahead. Hop onto land here and keep going north.

Step 14: Head north from the top of the stairs, passing between the large rocks.

Step 15: Continue on the path moving north-west, passing in-between the trees.

Step 16: Take the first available right turn alongside the trees, then climb down the stairs you’ll see on your left.

Step 17: At the bottom of the stairs is a cavern entrance.

Enter the cave to reach the Giant Chasm.

Step 18: Once you’re inside, take an immediate right at the entrance of the Giant Chasm, heading east.

Step 19: Continue walking east through the cave.

Step 20: Follow the path through the cave, veering north at the corner.

Step 21: Directly ahead is a large boulder.

Use HM04 Strength to push the boulder into the hole.

Step 22: Walk over the now-covered hole and follow the path west through the cave.

Step 24: At the end of this path is a set of stairs to the north. Head down those stairs and exit the cavern.

Step 25: The cavern’s exit leads to the forest area of the Giant Chasm.

Once you’re here, climb down the stairs.

Step 28: Just ahead is a small ledge. Hop over the ledge and keep moving north.

Step 30: As the forest ends to the north, turn and head east.

Step 32: Directly ahead are two small rocks. Continue east towards them.

Psyshock should be taught to a strong Special Attacker in your party, and it can be used against a target that’s expecting Special attacks.

Psyshock’s big twist is that it damages Defense instead of Special Defense.

This is a great way to take down your opponent’s toughest Pokémon & take them by surprise.

Aside from its secondary effect, Psyshock also boasts strong damage at 80 base Power.

Picking up TM03 is a must in every playthrough of B/W. This is because the move is so powerful, and because only a handful of Pokémon can learn Psyshock via level-up.

As mentioned above, you’ll want to teach Psyshock to your best Special Attackers. Several great Psychic-types specialize in Special Attack, such as Alakazam, Jynx, Gardevoir, and Espeon.

These Pokémon are all great options to teach Psyshock to.
