How To Get TM09 Venoshock in Pokémon Black & White

TM09 on the ground on Route 15 (Pokémon Black)

TM09 Venoshock is located in a Poké Ball on Route 15, just below the Poké Transfer Lab. The easiest way to reach Route 15 is by starting at Nimbasa City and heading east across the Marvelous Bridge.

But you won’t be able to cross Marvelous Bridge until you’ve defeated the Elite Four and N. So this TM is only available in the post-game.

You’ll also need a Pokémon in your party that knows HM04 Strength to reach TM09’s location.

Venoshock Move Details
Type Poison
Category Special
Power 65
Accuracy 100
PP 10

Venoshock is one of the more powerful Poison-type moves in the game.

Its 65 base Power isn’t the best, but the attack really shines when used against a poisoned target.

Against poisoned foes, Venoshock’s Power doubles to 130. This can be devastating versus an already-ailing opponent.

Venoshock is best used alongside a dependable move that offers a great chance of inflicting poison onto your foe. Great moves to consider could be Toxic or Toxic Spikes.

Many other Poison attacks also have a chance to poison as a secondary effect, which makes Venoshock an ideal move for any Poison-type Pokémon’s moveset.

Who To Teach Venoshock

Gengar is far-and-away the best Venoshock user. This is because it’s already a great Pokémon on its own – but its Poison typing offers a STAB (Same-type attack bonus) boost to the damage.

Gengar also has a 130 base Special Attack, which makes it a strong choice for Special moves like Venoshock.

Other good Pokémon to consider teaching TM09 include Roserade and Vileplume.
