Where To Get TM73 Thunder Wave in Pokémon Black & White

Using Thunder Wave in battle in Pokémon Black

TM73 Thunder Wave can be purchased for 10,000 Pokédollars in the Nimbasa City Pokémon Center at the desk where TMs are sold. Nimbasa City’s Pokémon Center can be found in the Southwest corner of the town.

In Pokémon BW, Poké Marts are no longer a separate building. Instead they’re included inside Pokémon Centers. The desk selling items can be found to the right of the Center’s entrance.

You’ll be able to reach Nimbasa City after defeating Gym Leader Burgh in Castelia City. After beating Burgh, you’ll need to cross the sandstorm on Route 4.

Accuracy 100
PP 20

Thunder Wave is the best way to inflict Paralysis on your opponents, which is one of the most crippling status conditions in the game.

A paralyzed Pokémon:

  • Loses 75% of their Speed
  • And is also unable to move 25% of the time

Thunder Wave also has perfect accuracy, but the move will not affect Ground-type Pokémon.

And best of all:

Thunder Wave can be learned by many types of Pokémon other than Electric, which adds to its value. Slower and more powerful Pokémon can greatly benefit from using Thunder Wave regularly, since reducing your opponent’s Speed can help level the playing field in tougher battles.
