How To Get TM79 Frost Breath in Pokémon Black & White

Outside the Icirrus City Gym in Pokémon Black

TM79 Frost Breath is given to you by Gym Leader Brycen after you defeat him at the Icirrus City Gym. You’ll find the Gym located in the northwest corner of the city.

But before you’re able to challenge the Icirrus City Gym, you’ll need to earn your Jet Badge in Mistralton City. From there, Icirrus City can be reached by making it through Twist Mountain.

As for the move itself:

Frost Breath is an Ice-type attack that has 40 base Power. The move always results in a critical hit, effectively boosting its base Power to 80.

Frost Breath is a Special Ice-type attack that deals damage at 40 base Power.

But it gets better: this move always results in a critical hit, doubling its power.

This helps Frost Breath deal 80 base damage each turn.

And TM79 is quite the valuable gift, because the attack can’t be learned by any Pokémon via level-up in Black or White.

Who To Teach Frost Breath To

To get the most bang for your buck, teach this move to an Ice-type with strong Special Attack.

Ice-types benefit from STAB (Same-type attack bonus) which boosts Frost Breath’s base damage to a staggering 120 Power level.

Jynx, Vanilluxe, and Glaceon all have high Special Attack and are ideal to teach Frost Breath to.

Cryogonal is another good choice for teaching TM79, and it can be obtained at Twist Mountain just before reaching Icirrus City.
