How To Get TM88 Pluck in Pokémon Black & White

At the entrance to Battle Subway in Pokémon Black

TM88 Pluck can be bought for 36 Battle Points (BP) at an Exchange Service Corner within the Battle Subway. The Battle Subway is located in the center of Nimbasa City, and you’ll reach Nimbasa City after defeating Gym Leader Burgh in Castelia City.

The Battle Subway has seven subway trains that offer a different style of battle.

BP gets awarded to you based on both win streaks and battle difficulty.

TMs and other items can be purchased with BP at an Exchange Service Corner on each subway.

Pluck is a Physical Flying-type attack that deals meager damage at 60 base Power. And it has a small added effect:

If your opponent is holding a berry, Pluck will steal the berry and your Pokémon will consume it.

Because this move’s Power level is so low, Pluck is never used in competitive play.

And by the time you’re able to obtain TM88 in your single-player journey, you’ll have learned much better moves for your Flying-type Pokémon.

So generally speaking, this is one of the lesser-used TMs in the game.

If you’re looking to stock up on berries by stealing them from wild Pokémon, Thief is a much better move. Instead of consuming the berry, Thief will add it to your Bag.

Thief can also be used with an ability like Frisk, which helps detect a wild Pokémon’s held item. And unlike Thief, there aren’t any Pokémon abilities that improve Pluck’s berry stealing effect.
