TM89 U-turn is dropped by a Wingull on Route 13 after you find and returning its missing Grams (Gram 1, Gram 2, and Gram 3). There are three Grams in total, and each of them can be found in the surrounding area.
The easiest way to reach Route 13 is by heading south from Lacunosa Town.
And for the move itself: U-turn is a Bug-type attack that deals damage at 70 base Power. After attacking, the user immediately switches out of battle and is replaced by a party Pokémon of your choosing.
TM89 U-turn Location (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Starting at the Lacunosa City Pokémon Center, head east through the city.
Step 2: Continue east past the staircase, then veer northeast down a path towards the city’s exit.
Step 3: Keep east to exit onto Route 13. You’ll need to turn south at the large signpost to actually head onto the route.
Step 4: Keep south on this route, walking through the tall grass.
Step 5: The path ahead forks in two directions.
Follow the path to the right in-between the trees.
Step 6: Just ahead is a bridge where you’ll spot an NPC with brown hair and a Wingull. Speak to the NPC.
Step 7: The NPC will tell you about the three grams that their Wingull lost. Each gram can be found on Route 13.
Step 8: After speaking with the NPC, head south and continue onto the next bridge.
Step 9: Gram 2 will be found in a Poké Ball on the ground at the very end of this bridge.
Step 10: The next closest Gram is Gram 1.
So to get that, head north and begin retracing your steps back across the bridges.
Step 11: After crossing both bridges, turn west past the trees.
Step 12: To the west is a tall staircase leading down to a lower area.
Climb down these stairs and head south.
Step 13: After walking through the tall grass, turn east and begin walking along the water at the beach.
Step 14: After passing under the bridge above, you’ll spot a bald elderly NPC standing to the north.
Step 15: Speak to the elderly NPC and after a brief conversation he will give you Gram 1.
Step 16: All that’s left is Gram 3.
From the elderly NPC’s location, turn around and head south across the narrow strip of shore.
Step 17: Keep south across the shore, passing the beach umbrella and the nearby pink parasol NPC.
Step 18: At the end of the shore, speak with the next NPC you see that’s holding a pink parasol. She’ll give you Gram 3.
Step 19: Now with all Grams recovered, begin heading back towards the Wingull to return them to the brunette girl who lost them.
Head north across the shoreline to retrace your steps.
Step 20: Continue north past the fisherman.
Step 21: Keep north, then take the left turn past the elderly NPC.
Step 22: Continue walking west under the bridge.
Step 23: Take the tall staircase back onto the Route’s upper level.
Step 24: From the top of the stairs, head east back towards the bridge.
Step 25: Then speak to the NPC to return the Grams to Wingull. After you do that, the Wingull will drop TM89 U-turn.

U-turn is a Physical Bug-type attack that deals damage at 70 base Power.
The move is typically used for its secondary effect, as you’re able to switch to another Pokémon in your party after the attack is successful.
U-turn is a great way to keep your opponent on their toes, and it’s very difficult for your opponents to prepare for.
The attack can help you create a type disadvantage with the other members of your party if you’re able to anticipate your opponent’s next attack. It can also be used to quickly swap-out a Pokémon with low HP or a status infliction.
Tip: Even though U-turn is a Bug-type move, only a few Bug Pokémon can learn it via level-up.
So TM89 can be taught to a variety of types, and pairing it with a strong attacker is much more feasible than forcing it onto a Bug-type that you may not even want in your team.
