Where is the Move Deleter in Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen?

Inside the Move Deleter Home in FRLG

The Move Deleter in Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen is in the building to the left of the Pokémon Center in Fuchsia City.

To get to Fuchsia City, you’ll need to move the Snorlax west of Celadon City with the Pokéflute and ride down Cycling Road with a Bicycle.

There are only really two prerequisites for getting to the Move Deleter, and they only exist because you have to get to Fuchsia City.

Before you can get to Fuchsia and talk to the Move Deleter, you must:

  1. Obtain the Bicycle to enter Cycling Road
  2. Acquire the Pokéflute from Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town and move the Snorlax on Route 16, west of Celadon

Reaching Fuchsia

After you have the Pokéflute and Bicycle, getting to Fuchsia is easy.

Step 1: Head to Celadon City, and move west onto Route 16. There will be a Snorlax blocking a building. Use the Pokéflute on Snorlax, appologize to the big guy, and then walk through the building to Cycling Road.

Step 2: Head south on Cycling Road until you reach water, then head east and cross into Fuchsia.

After you cross through the building on the bottom-right of Route 17, you’ll be in fuchsia and can find the Move Deleter.

Finding The Move Deleter

The move deleter is smack dab in the center of Fuchsia City.

Just find the Pokémon Center and walk into the house next to it on the left.

Once you’re inside, the Move Deleter will be the only NPC in the house. He’ll have a white shirt and shiny head, so you can’t miss him!

Just talk to him and tell him which move you want to delete.

Why Use The Move Deleter?

Pokémon cannot know HM moves while being transferred between certain games.

And the Move Deleter is the only way to delete HM moves in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, so he plays a super vital role in this gen.

He’s also just useful in general, like if you want to delete a move on your Pokémon without having to replace it with another move. There probably aren’t many times you’d want to do this, unless you’re deleting an HM, but having the option is nice.

If you accidentally delete a move, or if you just want to re-learn a move your Pokémon has forgotten, you can head to the Move Maniac on Two Island.

You’ll need either one Big Mushroom or two Small Mushrooms, but the Move Maniac will be able to re-teach your Pokémon any move that they have ever learned.

A jack of all trades when it comes to gaming. I can sit down for hours in a casual playthrough of Pokémon, or I can spend months trying to hit Diamond in League of Legends. I love and appreciate everything about games, and love sharing that passion with my readers.
