Where To Get the Poké Flute in Pokémon FRLG

Inside Mr. Fuji's House in Pokémon FireRed

In Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen, you can get the Poké Flute by reaching the top of the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town and rescuing Mr. Fuji. After that, you’ll automatically return to his house where he will give you the Poké Flute as a thank you gift.

In order to make it to the top of Pokémon Tower, you’ll need the Silph Scope from Rocket HQ. Once you have the Silph Scope, clearing the tower requires battling many trainers and Ghost Pokémon.

Clearing the Pokémon Tower & getting the Poké Flute is also necessary before you can enter the Silph Co. Building in Saffron City.

The only thing required for beating the Pokémon Tower is the Silph Scope.

Without the Silph Scope, every encounter in the tower will be a “GHOST”. You will not be able to battle or catch these Pokémon.

Once you have the Silph Scope, these Pokémon will be their true form (Gastly/Haunter).

Lavender Town Pokémon Tower (Quick Guide)

The Pokémon Tower isn’t exactly hidden. It’s in the northeast of Lavender Town. You can simply enter the tower, and take the stairs in the top right corner. These will take you up to the first floor, where you will need to battle your Rival.

Your Rival’s party is actually pretty strong. It will consist of the following 5 Pokémon:

  • Pidgeotto Lv 25
  • Gyarados Lv 22
  • Exeggcute Lv 23
  • Kadabra Lv 20
  • [Starter Pokémon 2nd Evolution] Lv 25

After you’ve defeated your Rival, head up the stairs of the Pokémon Tower.

You will most likely have to fight many trainers on your journey up, but most of them only have one or two Gastly/Haunter in their party, so they’re easy to beat.

On one of the floors, you will find a “purified and protected zone”. When you step inside of this zone, your entire party will be fully healed. Keep this in mind for later.

There will also be a Cleanse Tag here, which you can give to one of your Pokémon to act as a Repel if you’re sick of Gastly.

Before you head up the final set of stairs, a text box will pop up warning intruders to leave.

Then you will encounter a “GHOST”, which your Silph Scope will reveal to be a Lv 30 Marowak.

You cannot catch this Marowak, so you just need to defeat her. Defeating the Marowak calms its spirit and allows you to proceed up the stairs to the top of Pokémon Tower.

Before you can talk to Mr. Fuji and get the Poké Flute, you must defeat three Rocket Grunts.

These Grunts don’t have very strong Pokémon, but they do have about 3 or 4 a piece.

Grunt 1:

  • Zubat Lv 25
  • Zubat Lv 25
  • Golbat Lv 25

Grunt 2:

  • Koffing Lv 26
  • Drowzee Lv 26

Grunt 3:

  • Zubat Lv 23
  • Zubat Lv 23
  • Rattata Lv 23
  • Raticate Lv 23

After you defeat these Rocket Grunts, head up and talk to the old man at the end of the isle (Mr. Fuji).

Mr. Fuji will take you back to his house, where you can talk to him again. When you talk to him this second time inside his house, he’ll give you the Poké Flute.

After you have the Poké Flute you’ll be able to enter the Silph Co. Building and wake up any Snorlax you might come across.
