How To Get the Powder Jar in Pokémon FRLG

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, you get the Powder Jar by talking to the man in the house directly above the Pokémon Center in Cerulean City. The man will ask if you have an interest in Berries, and if you select “Yes” then he will give you the Powder Jar key item.

The Powder Jar can be used at the Direct Corner on the top floor of the Pokémon Center by talking to the right-side attendant and selecting “Berry Crush”.

Prerequisites

There aren’t many prerequisites for getting the Powder Jar, but you will need a couple of things before you can actually use it.

The prerequisites are:

Be able to reach Cerulean City (just to get the item)
Have the Wireless Adapter for FRLG on GBA (to use the Powder Jar for the Berry Crush minigame)

The Powder Jar can only be used with the Wireless Adapter and a 2nd GBA game (FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald.)

However, you can get the Powder Jar as soon as you reach Cerulean City.

Getting the Powder Jar

Once you’re in Cerulean City, find the Pokémon Center towards the middle of town.

Directly above the Pokémon Center is a couple houses – you want the house on the right with bushes to the right of it.

Enter this house and talk to the man inside sitting at the table.

He will ask if you have an interest in Berries. If you select “Yes” you’ll receive the Powder Jar.

The Powder Jar will go into the Key Items pocket of your Bag where you will be able to check your Powder Quantity anytime you want.

Using the Powder Jar

To use the Powder Jar, you must go to the “Direct Corner” of the 2nd floor of the Pokémon Center, which just means talking to the attendant on the right side of the room.

If you have your Wireless Adapter plugged in, the attendant will give you the option to enter “Berry Crush”.

Note: Keep in mind you will also need the Powder Jar in the 2nd Pokémon game so they can join you. You will also need to talk to the same Pokémon Center attendant in the 2nd game.

After you select Berry Crush, one player must select “Become Leader” and the others must select “Join Group”.

Once you start the Berry Crush game, all players must tap A as fast as possible in order to get as much Berry Powder as possible. The more players playing, the more Berry Powder the minigame will yield!

Once you’ve obtained Berry Powder from the Berry Crush game, you can go back to the man that gave you the Powder Jar and he will sell you some items for various amounts of Berry Powder.
