TM49 Snatch can be found on the 4th Basement Floor of Celadon City’s Game Corner. The TM will be on the ground in the top-left corner of this floor, alongside the Rocket Grunt who drops the Lift Key for the elevator.

But before you’re able to access the casino’s basement, you’ll need to defeat the Team Rocket member on the casino’s main floor. You’ll then be able to reveal the building’s basement stairs.

Snatch is a Dark-type Status move that attempts to mirror the Status moves of its target.

When Snatch is used, any healing or stat-boosting move used by the opponent is instead stolen by whoever uses Snatch.

This includes moves such as Swords Dance, Rest, and Minimize.

While it can be fun to steal a move from your opponent, Snatch really doesn’t have much use in the competitive scene. And it also doesn’t have a super practical use in a regular single-player playthrough of FireRed & LeafGreen.

It is far easier to just use beneficial Status moves for yourself, without having to rely upon copying your opponent.

Also note that if your opponent fails to use an eligible move, your turn is wasted and Snatch won’t do anything.

So this TM is much better off being sold for money rather than being used on anyone in your party.
