How To Get the Town Map in Pokémon FRLG

Inside your rival's house near his sister in Pallet Town (FireRed)

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, you’ll get the Town Map by talking to your Rival’s sister in Pallet Town. You can do this right after delivering Oak’s Parcel to Professor Oak.

But technically you can pick up the Town Map at any point during the game, not just at the beginning when you’re initially in Pallet Town.

Prerequisites

The Town Map is one of the first Key Items you get in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, so there aren’t many prerequisites.

You’ll just need to:

  • Pick your Starter Pokémon and battle your Rival
  • Deliver the Parcel to Professor Oak

After you’ve delivered Oak’s Parcel, you can grab the map from your Rival’s sister. It’s an easy Key Item to accidentally skip over, though, so there’s no shame in heading back to Pallet Town mid-game to pick it up!

Getting the Town Map

After you’ve cleared the small “tutorial” at the beginning of the game and delivered the Parcel to Professor Oak in his lab, you just have to make your way to your Rival’s house in Pallet Town. This is located directly to the right of your house.

Just head inside and talk to your Rival’s sister. She’s sitting at a table with a Map spread out right in front of her.

The Town Map will go into the Key Items Pocket of your Bag, where you’ll be able to use it anytime to see where you are in the overworld.

A jack of all trades when it comes to gaming. I can sit down for hours in a casual playthrough of Pokémon, or I can spend months trying to hit Diamond in League of Legends. I love and appreciate everything about games, and love sharing that passion with my readers.
