The only Electirizer available in HeartGold/SoulSilver is hidden deep within Cerulean Cave. To gain access to Cerulean Cave, you’ll first need to collect all 16 Gym Badges.
Once you’ve done that, the guard blocking the entrance to the cave will move and allow you to pass.
And to reach the location of the Electirizer, you’ll need:
- A Pokémon with Surf
- A Pokémon with Rock Climb
- A Pokémon with Flash (optional, just if you want to see inside the cave)
It’s probably a good idea to bring a Pokémon with Dig too, or an Escape Rope, as it takes a while to leave the cave once you’re in deep.
The Electirizer is the only way you can get an Electivire to fill your Pokédex. Electabuzz evolves into Electivire when you trade it with another player while it’s holding an Electirizer.
Electirizer Location (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Start your journey by flying to Cerulean City, then making your way to the north exit onto Route 24.
Step 2: Cross the golden bridge onto Route 25.
Once you’re over the bridge, take an immediate left and climb down the stairs.
Step 3: Once you’ve descended the stairs, Surf on the water at the point shown in the picture below.
Step 4: Surf directly down south as far as you can go from this point. Follow the river as it curves round to the left.
Soon you’ll reach the entrance of Cerulean Cave. If you’ve got all 16 Gym Badges, you’ll be able to enter.
Step 5: Once you’re inside, use Flash to light up your surroundings.
Then, walk straight forward to the first body of water and use Surf.
Step 6: Follow this waterway up north as far as it’ll take you, then take the left turn at the top.
Step 7: Now you need to head left as far as you can.
Once you can go no further, Surf to the south until you see some dry land with ladders on it, as pictured below. Disembark here.
Step 8: From here, head south and follow the one-way path until you reach a steep staircase with a ladder at the top, pictured below.
Step 9: Climb up the ladder into an elaborate crystal maze.
Don’t worry, it’s easier than it looks to navigate. Just head east and take the north path at the first fork.
Step 10: You’ll need to take the right turn at the second fork in the maze, pictured below.
After that, just follow the one-way path.
Sooner or later until you’ll reach a ladder going down. Climb down it.
Step 11: You’ll descend into a small room with another ladder. Climb down this one too.
On the next floor, you’ll see two Rock Climb spots. Take the second one of these, as pictured below.
Step 12: Immediately in front of the previous Rock Climb spot you just went up, you’ll see another Rock Climb spot. Take this one too.
Step 13: Follow the path for a few steps and then descend the steep staircase to the south that leads to some water. Surf on the water.
Step 14: Follow this body of water to the right and then head up north until you reach dry land. Disembark here.
Head north once you’re on dry land and follow the path to the right. Take the first Rock Climb opportunity you see, pictured below.
Step 15: A few steps after this Rock Climb spot you’ll see another spot to climb. Take this one as well.
At the top, you’ll see a Pokéball lying on the ground. This contains your Electirizer.
