Where To Get the Alakazite in Pokémon ORAS

Mega Alakazam in battle in Pokémon Omega Ruby

Alakazam’s Mega Stone Alakazite can be found in the southwest part of Slateport Market in Slateport City.

Despite being located in a market, the Alakazite isn’t sold there. Instead you can pick it up off the ground for free as soon as you gain access to Slateport City.

Alakazite Location (Step-by-Step)

Slateport City is a port city on the southern coast of the Hoenn region. The city is first accessible when you head north from the beach on Route 109. It will also be accessible from Route 110 on the north and Route 134 on the east.

On the southwestern side of Slateport City is Slateport Market, an outdoor bazaar with stalls selling various items.

But you won’t need any money to get the Alakazite, since it’s just lying on the ground.

Note: Unlike most Mega Stones, which require you to finish the event that takes place in the Cave of Origin, you can immediately obtain the Alakazite when you first reach Slateport City.

Here are the only prerequisites:

  • Get the second Gym Badge from Brawly, Dewford Town’s Gym Leader
  • Unlock the option for Mr. Briney to take you to Route 109 (near Slateport City)

If you’ve already done these, head over to Slateport City to get started.

Step 1: From Slateport City’s Pokémon Center, follow the left path heading south.

Step 4: Interact with the sparkling item that should be on the ground directly in front of the stall and next to the fence (pictured below). This is the Alakazite.

Is Mega Alakazam Worth Using?

Mega Stones like the Alakazite are held items that allow certain Pokémon to Mega Evolve, granting them a massive boost to their base stats.

Most Mega Evolutions also change the Pokémon’s ability, which lasts until the battle concludes.

When Alakazam Mega Evolves into Mega Alakazam, it changes its ability to Trace, which lets it copy any useful ability the opponent might have.

Possessing the highest Special Attack stat of any non-legendary Pokémon in the game, Mega Alakazam is a phenomenal special sweeper and wallbreaker.

Its Speed stat is also extremely high, making it very difficult to outspeed without Tailwind or Choice Scarf.

Also, Mega Evolving Alakazam slightly boosts both defense stats; however, its HP and Defense stats are still way too low to reliably survive a strong Physical attack.
