You can only obtain Assaults Vest at the Battle Maison’s Exchange Service Corner in exchange for 48 BP. The Assault Vest is a held item that raises the holder’s Special Defense by 50%, but it prevents the holder from using status moves.
Ever since its introduction in X and Y, the Assault Vest has been widely used in a lot of competitive teams. It’s great on a wide variety of Pokémon as its benefit is usually worth the cost.
Equipping an Assault Vest on Pokémon with naturally high Special Defense like Goodra can make them very difficult to get rid of.
On the flip side, the Assault Vest also works well with Pokémon that aren’t naturally Specially Defensive. A 50% boost is significant enough to make your Pokémon take more hits than it would have.
To make up for being unable to use Status Moves, be sure to have your Pokémon learn a wide variety of moves for good coverage.
Getting an Assault Vest from the BP Shop

This method requires you to have access to the Battle Maison, located at the Battle Resort. It’s the island accessible after you get the S.S. Ticket, which is obtained after completing the Delta Episode.
The Battle Maison is a battle facility like the Battle Tower in other generations.
Winning battles here grant BP or Battle Points, which you can exchange for various items at the Exchange Service Corner, located in the entrance hall.

Two attendants sell different types of rare items for BP.
The left attendant sells Vitamins, EV training items, and evolution items. The right attendant sells held items used in battle, including Assault Vests.
