Where To Get The Black Glasses in Pokémon ORAS

Blackglasses boosting dark-type moves in battle (Pokémon ORAS)

There is only one pair of Black Glasses in Omera Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and you can obtain them by using your Dowsing Machine on Route 116’s right side. This area is accessible by entering Rusturf Tunnel through its entrance in Verdanturf Town.

But if you don’t have the Dowsing Machine or just want to see the exact location, we’ll show you how to get there with step-by-step screenshots.

Black Glasses Location (Step-by-Step)

When you first have access to Route 116, you won’t be able to access the location of the Black Glasses. This is because the path in Rusturf Tunnel is blocked by a rock that you can only break with HM06 Rock Smash.

As mentioned above, you don’t have to use the Dowsing Machine to get the Black Glasses if you know the exact spot of the hidden item. However, you do need to at least have access to Vendanturf Town.

But once that’s all set, you can start by flying (or walking) to Verdanturf Town’s Pokémon Center.

Step 1: Head inside Rusturf Tunnel’s entrance, right next to the PokéMart.

How Do The Black Glasses Work?

The Black Glasses is a held item that boosts the power of Dark-type moves by 20%.

While not the most popular held item, Black Glasses are still a good item in competitive battles.

Unlike Life Orb and Choice items, the Black Glasses’ power boost has no drawback, which can be worth sacrificing more power over.

Items like Black Glasses exist for other types as well. They all provide a 20% boost to their corresponding type. Arceus’ Plates also function in the same way.

Sucker Punch users are especially great holders of Black Glasses. These types of items won’t give information on the item you’re holding, so your opponent won’t realize you’re using a boosted version of Sucker Punch.
