3 Route 120 — Defeat Delinquent Sharlene in a rematch (20% chance) Yes

Dusk Balls can be obtained through a few different methods, but the most reliable way to get Dusk Balls is by purchasing them from the Fallarbor Poké Mart for 1000 Pokédollars each.

Or if you’re looking to save some money, you can also obtain Dusk Balls by defeating Street Thug Gomez or Delinquent Sharlene in a rematch. Rematches can be initiated through the Trainer’s Eye function on the PokéNav Plus.

Unfortunately, the chances of receiving a Dusk Ball as a reward for defeating either of them are only 20%. You can find both Street Thug Gomez and Delinquent Sharlene on Route 120.

Method #1: Fallarbor Town Poké Mart

The Fallarbor Poké Mart is located directly south of the town’s Pokémon Center. This is where you can purchase Dusk Balls for 1000 Pokédollars each.

Simply speak to the top clerk near the back of the mart to buy Dusk Balls, as well as other special Poké Balls such as Dive Balls and Quick Balls. They all sell for the same price.

The AreaNav is a feature of the PokéNav Plus, which displays the map of the Hoenn Region.

Upon selecting the map, you will see various tabs, including the Trainer’s Eye tab.

This tab allows you to locate specific trainers across Hoenn who are ready for a rematch, indicated by a “Battle Ready” sign next to their profile.

When you defeat rematchable trainers, you have a small chance of obtaining an item as a reward.

When you defeat Street Thug Gomez, he has a 20% chance of giving you one Dusk Ball.

Street Thug Gomez can be found in the southwestern area of Route 120. Once you find him, initiate the rematch by speaking to him.

Just check the Trainer’s Eye tab on Route 120 to determine if he’s available for a rematch. If he is, fly back to Route 121 since it’s nearer to his exact location.

And here’s where to find this exact NPC:

Step 1: Fly to the Route 121 sign, then exit Route 121 on your left and head to Route 120.

Defeating Delinquent Sharlene in a rematch gives you a 20% chance to obtain a Dusk Ball as well.

To check if she’s available for a rematch, use the Trainer’s Eye tab on Route 120.

If Delinquent Sharlene is available for a rematch, then first head over to the same location of Street Thug Gomez on Route 120 (Delinquent Sharlene is located nearby).

Here’s her exact location:

How Do Dusk Balls Work?

Catching a Pokémon with a Dusk Ball

Dusk Balls have a catch rate modifier of 3.5x when used at night or inside a cave. However, during the daytime their catch rate modifier is only 1x.

In Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, nighttime occurs between 6:00 pm and 3:59 am (18:00 to 03:59).

Here’s a table that compares the catch rate modifiers and prices of other frequently-used Pokéballs:

Type of Pokéball Catch Rate Modifier Price
Pokéball 1x 200
Great Ball 1.5x 600
Ultra Ball 2x 1200
Dusk Ball (used at night or in a cave) 3.5x 1000
