How To Get the Eviolite in Pokémon ORAS

Inside the 123-Go Fish Shop in Pokémon Alpha Sapphire

The Eviolite is a held item that you can obtain from a Fisherman on Route 123. You can find him inside 123 Go Fish, which is a fishing shack you can only access via the northeastern side of this route.

When you speak to the Fisherman he will ask you a question – and if you pick ‘Magikarp’ as your answer, he will give you the Eviolite.

To access the shack’s location, you need to enter Route 123 from the northeast. You will need HM01 Cut and HM03 Surf along the way.

Note: This is the only way to acquire an Eviolite in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.

Getting To Route 123

Route 123 can be accessed from two sides:

  • Route 118 (west)
  • Route 122 (northeast)

However, due to several ledges stretching across this route, it’s not possible to travel from west to east. So if you’re coming from Route 118 you will eventually reach a dead-end, preventing you from accessing the rest of Route 123.

To reach the 123 Go Fish shop, you have to access Route 123 from the northeast. You can do this by going through Route 122, which is a sea route. So make sure you have HM03 Surf ready and usable.

Here’s how to reach Route 123 via the correct path to get your Eviolite:

Step 1: Fly to Route 122. Then from the Route signpost, use Surf facing south on the water and head southeast around Mt. Pyre.

Eviolite Location (Step-by-Step)

Now that you’re at the right spot on Route 123, you can access the 123 Go Fish shop.

There will be cuttable plant obstacles on the way, so you will also need a Pokémon that can use HM01 Cut to pass through.

Note: Be careful around the ledges here too. If you jump down a ledge accidentally before reaching the shop, you’ll have to start over again from Route 122.

To reach the 123 Go Fish shop, follow these steps:

Step 1: From the route’s entrance across from Mt. Pyre, go south and turn towards the west to pass by an NPC with dark hair.

You’ll come across two cuttable plants blocking the way.

Eviolite Uses

If you give the Eviolite as a held item to a Pokémon that is unevolved and can still evolve further, its Defense and Special Defense stats will be increased by 50%.

While it is generally better to evolve all of your Pokémon, there are cases where they will benefit more from holding an Eviolite and staying unevolved.

For example:

Pokémon such as Chansey, Dusclops, and Rhydon will have better stats than their evolved versions while holding an Eviolite.
