Where To Get the Kangaskhanite in Pokémon ORAS

Mega Kangaskhan in battle in Pokémon Omega Ruby

Kangaskhan’s Mega Stone Kangaskhanite can be found to the left of the Pacifidlog Town Pokémon Center.

If you fly to Pacifidlog Town and look immediately to the left of the Pokemon Center, you can find the Mega Stone sparkling on the ground behind the town sign.

However, you can only find it there after you defeat/catch Kyogre or Groudon in the Cave of Origin.

Kangaskhanite Location (Step-by-Step)

Even if you’ve been to Sootopolis City, you might not have been to Pacifidlog Town yet. This is because you don’t have to visit Pacifidlog Town for any main quest.

So we’ll show you how to get to Pacifidlog Town for the first time, and then exactly where to find the Mega Stone. Just bring a Pokémon that knows Surf and you should be all set.

Note: Most Mega Stones, including Kangaskhan’s Mega Stone, are only obtainable after you defeat/catch Kyogre or Groudon in Sootopolis City; more specifically, in the Cave of Origin. This major event happens right before you’re able to challenge the eighth and final Gym. So make sure you clear this event before going after the Kangaskhanite.

To get started, just fly to Lilycove City.

Step 1: Head east to reach Lilycove City’s shore on the right side of town. Surf on the water going east from Lilycove.

Mega Stones like the Kangaskhanite are held items that allow certain Pokémon to Mega Evolve, granting them a massive boost to their base stats.

Most Mega Evolutions also change the Pokémon’s ability, which lasts until the battle concludes.

When Kangaskhan Mega Evolves into Mega Kangaskhan, it changes its ability to Parental Bond. This makes damaging moves hit twice in battle, although the second hit has its damage reduced by 50%.

So is Mega Kangaskhan worth using?

Generally speaking, absolutely.

It could be considered the strongest non-Legendary Mega Evolution in the game. Mega Kangaskhan’s dominating presence in competitive battles stems from its signature ability, Parental Bond. Even if the second hit deals less damage, you still get to benefit from the secondary effects your moves might have.

One of the most popular moves to abuse Parental Bond with is Power-Up Punch, which now increases your Attack stat by two stages, in addition to dealing damage.

Parental Bond is also great with moves like Body Slam, Crunch, and Seismic Toss.
