Where To Get TM29 Psychic in Pokémon ORAS

Espeon using Psychic in battle (Pokémon Alpha Sapphire)

In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, TM29 Psychic is located on a ledge on Ever Grande City’s east side. However, you can only access this side of the city by using a hidden exit found inside Victory Road.

TM29 Psychic Location (Step-by-Step)

To fully explore Victory Road and get TM29 you will need Pokémon that know the following HMs:

Pokémon that know TM70 Flash and HM05 Waterfall can also make traversing the entire cave easier, but neither of those are required.

Once you’re ready just fly over to Ever Grande City’s Pokémon Center to start.

Step 1: Enter Victory Road located northwest of your location outside the Pokécenter.

Step 8: If you want to, you can use TM70 Flash to illuminate this part of the cave.

But either way, you’ll be using HM04 Strength to push the boulder (located on the left) into the corner. Check the screenshot below for details.

Type Psychic
Category Special
Power 90
Accuracy 100%
PP 10 (max. 16)

Psychic is a Special Psychic-type move with a 10% chance of lowering the target’s Special Defense by one stage.

Any stat can be lowered up to six times; here’s how much each stage modifies a stat value:

Stage Main Stat
0 x1
-1 x0.66
-2 x0.5
-3 x0.4
-4 x0.33
-5 x0.285
-6 x0.25

Lowering a target’s Special Defense will make it very hard for any tank to take more damage without fainting.

While the Special Defense drop rarely lands, it just might win you the fight when it does happen.

In competitive battles, Psychic remains one of the best moves of its type. With a solid base power of 90 and perfect accuracy, it simply has no drawback.

Despite having a lot of other options, most Psychic-type special attackers tend to run either Psychic or Psyshock. Psyshock is the Psychic alternative that’s better against Pokémon with a lower Defense stat.

Since Psychic is only super-effective against Fighting and Poison-types, it doesn’t give a whole lot of coverage. Even though a lot of non-Psychic types can learn TM29, Psychic sees very little usage outside of Pokémon that benefit from Psychic-type Same-type Attack Bonus (STAB).
