TM62 Acrobatics can be found on a small island at the northwestern side of Route 119. But getting to the exact location of the TM requires the Acro Bike, and Pokémon in your party that can use Surf and Waterfall.
As for the move itself:
Acrobatics is a Flying-type move that deals damage. If the user has no held item, Acrobatics’ base power is doubled. The power of Acrobatics can also be doubled by consuming berries or using single-use items.
TM62 Acrobatics Location (Step-by-Step)
Because of a waterfall, Route 119 can’t be fully explored the first time you get here. So you’ll need to return later in the game when you have everything you need to obtain the TM.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- The eighth Gym Badge from Wallace, the Gym Leader from Sootopolis City
- A Pokémon with HM03 Surf
- A Pokémon with HM05 Waterfall
- You’re also going to need an Acro Bike to reach the TM’s location.
If you currently have the Mach Bike, you can exchange it for the Acro Bike at Rydel’s Cycles in Mauville City.
If you’re all set, fly to Route 119 to get started.
Step 1: Begin by following the southern path from the Route 119 Sign Marker and descend the stairs.
Step 2: Once you’ve reached the bottom of the stairs, head west until you see another set of stairs.
Step 3: Descend the next set of stairs and continue along the southern path.
Step 4: At the end of the path, use HM03 Surf on the body of water facing to the left.
Step 5: While surfing, head up the river, passing by the wooden bridge.
Then use HM05 Waterfall to ascend the waterfall you’ll find at the end of the river.
Step 6: After using HM05 Waterfall, get off to the left and ride your Acro Bike up to the small white rails.
Step 7: Go towards the narrow white rails/bridge and use the Devon Scope to reveal the hidden Kecleon. You can catch it or defeat it to proceed.
Step 8: While on your Acro Bike, cross the bridge and perform three sideways hops to get to the other side.
You can do a sideways hop by simultaneously pressing the B button and the down D-Pad/Control Pad.
Step 9: After crossing over the bridge to the right side, use your Acro Bike again to cross the next narrow bridge up ahead.
Note that you want to ride the very first bridge you see, because there are two bridges that both go to the left. You want the shorter bridge (first one you’ll run into).
Step 10: Once you cross the bridge and reach the small island, you’ll see the TM for Acrobatics on the ground.

Type | Flying |

Accuracy | 100% |
PP | 15 (max. 24) |
Acrobatics is a Physical Flying-type move with a base power that doubles from 55 to 110 if the user isn’t holding an item. The damage is still boosted if the item you had is consumed or removed.
During your playthrough, it may be worth forgoing holding a held item to take advantage of Acrobatics’ strength and consistency. Acrobatics is a solid option for any Flying-type Physical Attacker; however, it should never be used when holding a non-consumable item.
One great way to use Acrobatics is by pairing it up with consumable items like berries. This strategy is especially important in competitive battles where holding an item is essential.
Here are some suggestions on what berry to give your Acrobatics user:
Berry | Effect |
---|---|
Liechi Berry | raises the holder’s Attack by one stage when the holder’s HP falls below 25% |
Salac Berry | raises the holder’s Speed by one stage when the holder’s HP falls below 25% |
Sitrus Berry | restores 25% of the holder’s maximum HP when it falls below 50% |
Focus Sash and Weakness Policy are also good options to use when running Acrobatics.
Tip: The ability Unburden doubles the user’s Speed once its held item is consumed. This pairs extremely well with Acrobatics – in fact, most Unburden users tend to run Acrobatics if they can.
