How To Get TM81 X-Scissor in Pokémon ORAS

Using waterfall inside Victory Road to reach the Xscissor TM (Alpha Sapphire)

You can find TM81 X-Scissor at the top of a waterfall deep inside Victory Road. You’ll need Pokémon in your party that know HM03 Surf, HM04 Strength, and HM05 Waterfall to reach the TM’s exact location.

And having a Pokémon that also knows TM70 Flash can make traversing the cave easier, but Flash is not required.

TM81 X-Scissor Location (Step-by-Step)

You can only access Victory Road once you’ve at least reached Ever Grande City.

If you already have access to Ever Grande City’s Pokémon Center, then just be sure to bring Pokémon that know the following TM/HMs before heading out to get X-Scissor:

Tip: To leave Victory Road quickly after you get the TM, you could also bring a Pokémon with Dig or bring an Escape Rope.

Once you’re ready, we’ll get started from Ever Grande City’s Pokémon Center.

Step 1: Enter the cave entrance to Victory Road, located northwest of the PokéCenter.

Step 8: If you want to, you can use TM70 Flash to illuminate this part of the cave.

But either way, you’ll need to use HM04 Strength to head a few paces down from the ladder & then push the boulder on the left into the corner.

X-Scissor is a reliable STAB move for physical Bug-type Pokémon, since it comes with a decent base power of 80 and perfect accuracy.

However, if a Bug-type Pokémon in your party can learn Megahorn, that might be a better choice in most situations.

Megahorn’s significantly higher base power of 120 could outweigh the slight drop in accuracy (Megahorn only has 85% accuracy vs. X-Scissor’s 100%).

But many non-Bug-type Pokémon can learn X-Scissor as well. This makes it an effective coverage move against Dark-, Grass-, or Psychic-types.
