How To Get TM99 Dazzling Gleam in Pokémon ORAS

Getting the Dazzling Gleam TM from the girl NPC in Alpha Sapphire

You can get TM99 Dazzling Gleam by speaking with a little girl NPC on Route 123. This particular NPC is located just east of the Berry Master’s house, which you can only access by entering Route 123 from Route 118 (east of Mauville City).

To obtain this TM you must also have the fifth Gym badge, and you’ll need a Pokémon in your party that knows Surf.

Dazzling Gleam is a popular choice for a Fairy-type STAB move in Double Battles because it targets and damages both opponents simultaneously. The move has an 80 base power and 100% accuracy, making it a reliable option for dealing Fairy-type damage.

Dazzling Gleam’s utility extends to non-Fairy-type Pokémon as well, particularly Psychic-types, as it can serve as a great coverage move for those that can learn it.

This move usually competes for a spot in the movesets of Fairy-type Pokémon that can learn both it and Moonblast.

Moonblast is a more powerful Fairy-type move, boasting a base power of 95 and a perfect accuracy. Alongside its higher damage potential, Moonblast also has a chance of reducing the target’s Special Attack by one stage. But Moonblast only targets a single opponent.

So which of these moves is usually better?

While Moonblast is typically the better option in Single Battles, Dazzling Gleam proves more useful in Double Battles.
