You can get unlimited copies of TM61 Will-O-Wisp from the TM seller at the Battle Frontier’s Exchange Service Corner. It’ll cost 32 BP for each copy, and this is the only location in Platinum where you can get TM61.
Will-O-Wisp is a Fire-type status move that inflicts burn on the target.
TM61 Will-O-Wisp Location
Copies of TM61 Will-O-Wisp can only be purchased at the Battle Frontier, which you can only access in the post-game after you’ve defeated the Elite Four at least once.
The Battle Frontier is the huge building to the northeast of the Pokémon Center in the Battle Zone’s Fight Area.
After entering the building, cut through the Entrance Hall and head through the door to the north.
In the middle of the Main Hall will be several kiosks making up a central marketplace. This is the Exchange Service Corner.
Speak to the clerk at the southeastern kiosk (the one with the red and white striped canopy).
Scroll through her inventory until you find the TM61 Will-O-Wisp listing.
Each copy of TM61 Will-O-Wisp costs 32 BP, which must be won in the Battle Frontier’s various facilities.
Will-O-Wisp Details and Uses
Will-O-Wisp is a Fire-type status move that inflicts burn on a Pokémon, cutting its Attack stat by 50% and inflicting slight damage to it at the end of every turn.

The burn status is extremely useful in the right situations, so this isn’t a terrible move.
A Pokémon that is badly poisoned will lose much more HP than a burned one will, but the 50% Attack decrease will render most physical attackers almost harmless.
The biggest drawback with Will-O-Wisp is its accuracy.
75% accuracy is pretty abysmal in competitive Pokémon, where one wasted turn could mean the difference between victory and defeat. In later games, Will-O-Wisp’s accuracy stat is raised to 85%, but in Platinum it’s much more of a gamble.
Miscellaneous information about Will-O-Wisp:
- Since Fire-type Pokémon cannot be burned, Will-O-Wisp will not affect them.
- Although it is not recommended due to the costliness of the TM, a copy of TM61 Will-O-Wisp can be resold for 1000 PokéDollars.
- If Will-O-Wisp is used in a Pokémon Contest, it earns the user 2 Appeal Points, plus 2 bonus Appeal Points if the user was the first to move in that turn.
