TM03 Swords Dance can be found on the 7th floor of the Silph Co. building in Saffron City. The TM is located in an area just south of the elevator in 7F.

However, this area is only accessible with the Card Key that you’ll find on the 5th floor of Silph. Co.

Prerequisites

This is what you need to do before you can get TM03:

  1. Meet Mr. Fuji on the top floor of the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town
  2. Get the Card Key on the 5th floor of the Silph Co. building

Getting TM03 Swords Dance

Starting from the Saffron City Pokémon Center, head west until you reach the end of the path.

At the end of the path, head north until you see a sign near a building and the path splits.

At the path split, head east until you reach the Silph Co. building.

If you’ve talked to Mr. Fuji, then there should be no Rocket guarding the Silph Co. building and you should be able to enter.

Once inside the building, Head northeast towards the elevator near the top right corner of the 1st floor. The elevator is just left of the stairs.

Take the elevator up to the 9th floor. You could also take the stairs up to the 9th floor, but using the elevator is much faster.

Once you’re on the 9th floor, head southeast until you’re in the bottom right corner of the room.

There’s a Scientist trainer near the bottom of the room, but he can be avoided if you just walk around him.

Head northwest in this new room towards the teleporter behind the desk and walk onto the square.

The teleporter will lead you to the 5th floor next to a Rocket. This Rocket is unavoidable and you’ll have to fight him.

After defeating the Rocket, head east until you see a Poké Ball.

This Poké Ball contains the Card Key.

Once you’ve got the Card Key then we’ll head to the 7th floor. The easiest way to do that is by heading back the way you came.

Once you’re on the 7th floor, head southeast towards the electronic door and interact with it. There’s a Rocket nearby, but you can walk around him.

Once the door is open, head towards the bottom-right corner until you see the Pokéball on the ground containing TM03 Swords Dance.

Swords Dance is a powerful stat increasing move that raises the user’s attack stat by two stages.

Even just one use of Swords Dance can seriously strengthen a Pokémon’s physical attacks for the rest of the battle.

For a Pokémon with a high attack stat, or a Pokémon that uses non-special attack moves, Swords Dance is a great TM worth using. Otherwise it could be worth selling for some extra cash.
