There are three different ways to bless tools by breaking the curses on your Cursed Tools to obtain their Blessed variants:
- Paying Carter to bless them
- Using the tool 50 times
- Or keeping them equipped for five days in total
The action you need to take will vary based on which tool you want to Bless.
Blessed Tool Conversion | |
---|---|
Tool | How to Remove Curse |
Cursed Hoe | Pay Carter to Bless it 5 times |
Cursed Watering Can | |
Cursed Fishing Rod | Use 50 times |
Cursed Axe | |
Cursed Hammer | Keep equipped for 5 days |
Cursed Sickle |
A Blessed Tool is the second-to-last upgrade that you can unlock for your farming equipment. These Blessed Tools are more efficient versions of the Cursed Tools, because they use up a lot less stamina.
The steep stamina cost of a Cursed Tool is why blessing a tool is so worthwhile.
Blessed Tools can do the exact same thing, but so much better.
Tip: You physically can’t unequip a Cursed Tool once it’s been selected, and it can only be removed once it becomes a Blessed Tool (or by paying Carter). So before equipping one from your toolbag, make sure you’re prepared!
Method 1: Carter’s Blessing
Paying Carter 1,000 G will allow him to bless any of your tools. Doing this once will remove the Cursed Tool from your equipped slot, but it won’t remove the curse permanently.
For the Cursed Hoe and Cursed Watering Can, doing this 5 times in a row will break the curse.
All you need to do is prepare 5,000 G and the Cursed Tool of your choosing.
Then visit Carter in his confession booth at Mineral Church between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
You can then select “Unequip a Cursed Tool” out of three options. Each blessing will cost 1,000 G, and if you do this 4 more times the curse will be permanently broken.
Method 2: Use the Cursed Tool
The Cursed Fishing Rod and Cursed Axe need to be used 50 separate times (at any charge) in order to remove the curse.
Just equip either one and start swinging.
If you run out of stamina or become overfatigued, just stock up on some food (like Stamina Booster XL or Curry Udon) before starting so you can recharge anytime.
In case of emergencies, you can always head over to Carter’s confession booth and pay him 1,000 G to temporarily remove the Cursed Tool from your equipped slot.
Method 3: Keep It in Your Pocket
For the Cursed Hammer and Cursed Sickle, you don’t really need to do anything – which is kind of its own punishment.
You just need to keep each tool equipped for 5 days straight.
During this time, you’ll be forced to either avoid using any tools, or just perform one task for the next 5 days. You could also just sleep through it!
After the fifth consecutive day, it will finally be replaced by a Blessed Tool.
Why Bless a Tool?
If you’ve reached this point and you’re still thinking, “why even bother?”, well there are a few major points to consider before sticking with your regular Mithril or Cursed Tools.
Less Stamina Cost
The stamina cost of Cursed Tools is pretty rough, but it becomes a lot better once the tool is upgraded to the Blessed level.
Tool Stamina Cost (Max Charge) | ||
---|---|---|
Tool | Cursed Stamina Cost | Blessed Stamina Cost |
Fishing Rod | -2 STA | |
Hoe | -75 STA | -15 STA |
Hammer | ||
Watering Can | ||
Sickle | ||
Axe | -100 STA | -20 STA |
Maximum Range
The second thing to note is that Blessed Tools are so much more powerful than Mithril Tools.
If you’re not a completionist, you could actually just choose to skip the Cursed Tool questline completely and keep using Mithril items for your gameplay.
However, upgrading your tools from Mithril to Blessed can make doing the farm chores so much more efficient.
Take a look at these differences in range and power between Mithril and Cursed/Blessed Tools:
Tool Range (Max Charge) | ||
---|---|---|
Tool | Mithril Range | Cursed/Blessed Range |
Fishing Rod | Large Fish and Power Berries | Catch Guardian Fish and treasure |
Hoe | Till a 6×1 plot of land | Till a 6×5 plot of land |
Axe | Chop large tree stumps in one hit | Chop all stumps and branches on the entire map at once |
Hammer | Break a small boulder in 2 hits (Cannot break large boulders) | Break all stones on the entire map at once + Break large boulders in one hit |
Watering Can | Water a 3×5 plot of land | Water a 6×9 plot of land |
Sickle | Cut a 5×5 area of grass | Cut a 7×7 area of grass |
Unlocking Mythic Ore
Lastly, and arguably the most important thing in this list, is that Blessed Tools are a prerequisite for being able to mine Mythic Ore from the Spring Mine.
Mythic Ore is the material required to unlock the final tool upgrade, which enhances the power of your farm tools even more.
Without this mineral, it’s almost impossible to progress further in the game.
Once you collect all of the Blessed Tools, you can finally start hunting for Mythic Ore on Levels 60, 102, 123, 152, 155, 171, 190, 202, 222, and 231-255 of the Spring Mine.
