Every year on Summer 7th, the Cluck-Cluck Clash Festival is held in Mineral Town’s plaza to show off the town’s chickens in a competition.

Winning the Cluck-Cluck Clash will allow your prized chickens to finally hatch Golden, Platinum, and X Eggs.

Requirements

#1: An Adult Chicken

The only thing you need to be able to enter the contest is to have one adult chicken on your farm.

Baby chicks can be bought individually from Lillia at PoPoultry Ranch. They will cost 1,500 G each.

After 7 days on your farm, it will mature into a fully grown chicken. At this point, you can start to harvest eggs daily.

To harvest higher-quality eggs though, you’ll need to take good care of your chickens and raise your friendship level with them.

You can check your friendship level with each Chicken by opening the Animal Relationships menu.

Note: The chickens you buy from Lillia will have a maximum of 5 hearts, but you can breed them (by placing eggs into the incubator) and slowly increase their maximum heart level.

Performing the following actions at least once a day will raise your friendship level by 1 FP for each chicken:

  • Talking/petting
  • Hand feeding
  • Grazing (open the Coop door for a minimum of 5 hours)

Once your chicken turns into an adult, they’re ready for the Cluck-Cluck Clash!

#2: Rick’s Invitation

On Summer 6th, the day before the festival, Rick will visit your farm and formally invite you to join the Cluck-Cluck Clash. You’ll run into him when you exit the farmhouse in the morning.

You’re given the option to accept the invitation and choose any adult chicken you want to enter into the contest.

Generally, the higher the heart level of the chicken, the more chances you’ll have of winning the competition.

Try to earn 5-8 hearts or more with each of your hens for a better chance of winning.

Rick will then take your chicken for the day to prepare for tomorrow’s festival.

Tip: A chicken will only need to win the Cluck-Cluck Clash once to be able to lay Golden Eggs, so there’s no need to enter them multiple years in a row if they’ve already competed before.

Event Details

To join the festival, enter the plaza after 10:00 AM on Summer 7th. Just head east from the path above your farm until you reach the very end, and go up.

How To Win

The goal is to scare the other chicken off the mat.

If you aren’t fast or responsive enough, you could lose if you allow your own chicken to run away.

Winning the festival is mostly based on luck, although it gets easier if you have at least 5+ hearts with your chicken. But a good trick is to wait until the opposing chicken is within a close enough range to start spamming the “startle” action. When they start to flinch back, keep advancing with your chicken to maintain the high ground.

Your chicken will be competing against other chickens for 3 straight rounds. For each level, it becomes a little more difficult to throw the other chicken off the mat.

Your chicken wins the festival if it defeats its opponents in all 3 battles.
