Ellen is Elly and Yu’s grandmother, and one of Saibara’s friends. She cannot leave her house anymore due to her old age, so her friends in Mineral Town just visit her most of the time.

Her birthday is on Winter 13th.

As you continue to raise your friendship points with Ellen, you can unlock townsfolk events that allow you to get to know her better.

Unlike marriage candidates, you aren’t really required to respond with specific dialogue in order to gain their favor.

They also aren’t required to advance in your friendship with the non-marriageable villagers. Below is a list of each event involving Ellen, and the requirements needed to trigger them.

Once you reach 4 friendship notes with Ellen, she will give you the recipe for Sandwich.

Also, Ellen will gift you a Stocking if you have 8 friendship notes with her & give her a ball of yarn during the Winter.

Befriending her will also give you earlier access to the front door of her house. This is useful too if you’re trying to raise your friendship points with Elly or Yu!
