Fluffy Festival – Story of Seasons: FoMT

Every year on Autumn 21st, the Fluffy Festival is held in Mineral Town’s plaza to showcase Sheep, Alpacas, and Angora Rabbits.

Winning the Fluffy Festival will allow these animals to produce Gold quality Fleece/Fur, or even higher quality too.

Requirements + How to Enter

#1: Have an Adult Sheep/Alpaca/Rabbit

The only thing you need to be able to enter the contest is to have one adult Sheep, Alpaca, or Angora Rabbit on your farm.

Baby Sheep or Alpacas can be bought from Mugi at Yodel Ranch. They live in the barn and cost 4,000 G each.

The Sheep and Alpacas will already be adults when you get them and they can start producing Fleece right away.

Angora Rabbits, on the other hand, can only be bought from Lillia at PoPoultry. They cost 3,000 G.

Rabbits will stay in the coop and are able to produce Fur.

To harvest higher-quality materials from these animals, you’ll need to take good care of them and raise your friendship level with them.

You can check your current friendship level by opening the Animal Relationships menu and looking at the number of hearts that are colored in.

The animals you buy from Mugi or Lillia will have a maximum of 5 hearts, but you can breed them to increase the cap. Breeding Kits can be purchased from both Yodel Ranch and PoPoultry.

Each time you breed an animal, the resulting baby will have +1 more maximum hearts than the parent.

Performing the following actions at least once a day on each animal will raise your friendship level by 1 FP:

• Brushing (with the Brush tool)
• Talking/petting
• Hand feeding
• Grazing (open the Barn/Coop door for a minimum of 5 hours)

Once your Sheep, Alpaca, or Rabbit reaches 8 hearts, they’re ready for the Fluffy Festival.

#2: Getting Mugi’s Invitation

On Autumn 20th, the day before the festival, Mugi will visit your farm and formally invite you to join the Fluffy Festival. You’ll run into him when you exit the farmhouse in the morning.

You’re given the option to accept the invitation and choose any animal you want to enter into the contest.

Note: Animals that don’t have fully grown hair will not be allowed to join, so avoid shearing your preferred animal for a certain number of days before the contest.

The animals are judged based on affection levels, so pick the one with the highest number of hearts.

Mugi will then take your chosen animal for the day to prepare for tomorrow’s festival.

Tip: Sheep, Alpacas, and Rabbits will only need to win the Fluffy Festival once to be able to produce Gold quality Fleece. There’s no need to enter them multiple years in a row if they’ve already competed before.

Event Details

To join the festival, enter the plaza after 10:00 AM on Summer 20th. Just head east from the path above your farm until you reach the very end, and go up.

You’re free to walk around the plaza first and greet some of the villagers.

Then when you’re ready to start the contest, talk to Mugi at the northwest side of the plaza to begin.

How To Win

Mugi will basically just walk around the plaza and inspect all the animals, then announce a winner. To win the Fluffy Festival, your contestant mostly just needs to have 8 hearts or more, since they’re judged according to friendship levels with the farmer.

There’s really not much more to it, other than simple luck + getting the highest FP level possible with whatever animal you enter.

After the festival ends, your Sheep/Alpaca/Rabbit that won should now be able to produce Gold, Platinum, or X-quality Fleece.

Prizes + Benefits

The Fluffy Trophy

The first time you win the Fluffy Festival, Mugi will present you with the Fluffy Trophy.

This trophy can be displayed in the farmhouse after the event.

Gold Fleece/Fur

If your animal has 8 hearts or more when it wins the Fluffy Festival, it will start producing Gold (G) quality Fleece or Fur the very next day.

Depending on the animal’s existing stats, it may also start to produce Platinum or X Fleece.

Friendship Points

Just like any other festival, showing up will earn you a decent amount of Friendship Points with all of the villagers.

Here are the things you can do to earn extra FP during the Fluffy Festival:

Selling G/P/X Wool, Fleece, and Fur

Gold, Platinum, or X Fleece can be sold via Zack and the Shipping Bin just like any regular item.

You can also sell Fleece to Huang once you become friends with him at 4 friendship notes.

To sell the Fleece to Huang, stand in front of his counter while holding the item and speak with him over the counter. Don’t interact directly with his sprite, as it will register as a gift instead.

As a special offer, Huang will pay an additional 5% (or more) for any animal products on Wednesdays.
