Whenever the New Year rolls around and Mineral Town prepares for a fresh start in Spring, there are two separate festivals that take place around the village.

The New Year’s Soba takes place on New Year’s Eve, the evening of Winter 30th.

The New Year’s Party starts after midnight and takes off into the morning of the following day.

You can only join one festival, since there’s a time conflict between the Soba and the Party. Skipping either one won’t have any negative consequences, but the Soba will have an exclusive prize that you can’t get if you attend the Party.

Festival Requirements

There are no special requirements to be able to attend the New Year’s festivals. All you need to do is to show up and enjoy the event.

To get to the New Year’s Soba in Rose Plaza, head east from the path above your farm until you reach the very end, and go up.

If you decide to join the New Year’s Soba, make sure you have an extra slot in your backpack so you can take home some Buckwheat Flour with you.

The New Year’s Party takes place at the summit of Mother’s Hill after midnight. To get to the Summit, follow the path below your farm leading south. Follow it all the way, then turn west, go up the stairs in front of the Hot Spring, and continue up until you cross the bridge to hike up Mother’s Hill.
