Oden is a savory dish that you can make in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.

Where To Learn the Recipe

Cooking inspiration is something that happens automatically as you make dishes with different ingredients. Once you’ve cooked with an ingredient a certain number of times, you can unlock a new recipe that uses the same item!

The farmer gets inspired to cook Oden while in the kitchen.

To learn the recipe for Oden, you need to cook with the following ingredients:

The quality of the ingredients you use can reduce the number of times you need to cook with that item. You can check the quality by looking at how many stars the ingredient has.

For each additional star that an ingredient has, the number of times you need to cook with it decreases by a factor of 1.

If a recipe states that you have to cook with Turnips 10 times to unlock it, you can make any dish with 1-star Turnips 20 times.

But if you have 2-star Turnips, you only need to cook with them 10 times. Likewise, 5-star Turnips will unlock the recipe after only 4 uses.

Recipe Requirements

The farmer harvests Turnips from a field in Spring.

Equipment Needed

The equipment needed to make Oden can be bought from Jeff at the General Store.

The downside is that Jeff sells his kitchen equipment one by one, in 10-day intervals after you buy the first of Gotts’ house remodeling upgrades.

This means that you can only access the next piece of equipment 10 days after the previous one becomes available for purchase.

Ingredients Needed

The recipe for Oden requires Turnips, Potatoes, and Mochi, which are all ingredients that are available in the Spring.

This makes it the perfect dish to welcome the New Year!

Oden Uses

The farmer eats a bowl of Oden to restore stamina while working in the Barn.

As Food

Oden can be consumed to restore a minimal amount of stamina. But it does not offer any fatigue recovery.

How To Sell Oden

Any dishes made in your kitchen can’t be shipped through Zack and the Shipping Bin. However, you can start selling food to Huang once you become friends with him at 4 friendship notes.

To sell a dish to Huang, speak to him in front of his counter while holding the item. Don’t interact directly with his sprite, as that will register as a gift instead.
