SoS:FoMT Watering Can (How To Upgrade + How To Use It)

Holding the watering can by the river in SoS:FoMT

The Watering Can has 7 possible upgrades, and each one requires a different amount of experience, along with certain materials (usually Gold and a certain Ore). Here’s a quick list of all the possible upgrades for your Watering Can:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Mithril
  • Cursed
  • Blessed
  • Mythic

In this guide we’ll cover the basic mechanics of the Watering Can, plus all the upgrade requirements, and how to use it to maximum efficiency. This can easily be achieved through tool upgrades and an optimum farming layout.

Soon enough, watering the entire field will only take you a few in-game minutes every day.

Note: If you fail to water your plants at least once a day, they won’t grow, and you’ll be unable to harvest them.

How To Fill Your Watering Can

There are only two bodies of water on your farm where you can fill your watering can:

  1. The small pond near the entrance
  2. Or the river that runs through the bottom of your farm map

Just stand next to the water with your Watering Can equipped, and press the action button to fill it.

In the early stages of your farm, keeping your crops situated at the upper left corner or the bottom region of the field is a good layout to follow. This way, you don’t have to travel too far just to keep your can filled.

You can also try planting only a few 3×3 fields at a time, so you have fewer tiles to water in the morning.

All Watering Can Upgrades

As you level up your farm and increase the number of crops you maintain, it can be hard to keep up with the daily watering routine. The lack of sprinklers in SoS: FoMT makes it so that you have to keep using your handheld tools throughout the entirety of the game.

This is why you should try to get your Watering Can upgraded ASAP to make things easier.

You can do this by going to Saibara at the Forge and paying him with ores to enhance your tools.

Each upgrade will increase the number of tiles you can water at one time with a single charge.

After you’ve successfully claimed your upgraded Watering Can, hold your action button down longer to “charge” it, and then release to water a larger area.
