|Where to Find||Bottom Line Corp. (X: 137, Y: 59)|
|Spirit House||Astrid’s Bungalow|
|Favorite Food||Noodle Soup|
Astrid is one of the first spirits you can encounter after recruiting the initial three (Gwen, Atul, and Summer). She marks the start of more complex tasks both on and off the boat.
This guide offers a walkthrough of her complete quest line from start to finish. We’re also including details on Astrid’s characteristics, mood factors, interests, and everything else in between.
How To Get Astrid
Here’s how you can recruit the spirit Astrid onto your ship:
Step 1: First, get the mailbox boat improvement from Albert’s Shipyard.
Step 2: With that installed, you’ll soon receive two letters: one of which is from a Worker’s Union taking place at Bottom Line Corp., a new island on your map.
Step 3: Sail to Bottom Line Corp. and look for the group of striking workers. Talk to their leader in the middle.
She’ll ask you to talk to their boss, who’s locked up in his office above some stacked containers.
Step 4: Walk left and climb up the containers you find. Above, you’ll find a small room with a spirit inside. Talk to him through the small window, and go back to the striking group’s leader after. You will have to do this back and forth a few times.
Step 5: That leader will then join your boat, and will reveal herself to be Astrid.
Astrid’s Complete Quest Line
Feed Your Elders
Once Astrid reveals herself on the ship, she will immediately ask for some food.
So cook something in the kitchen or give her some food that’s already in your inventory.
She will give you an Obol right after & then end the request.
Right after her first request, Astrid will immediately start the next one.
Here, she will introduce you to the first Turtle Sister Olga, located just below Albert’s Shipyard.
Once you arrive, Astrid will introduce you to a giant turtle. After some gossip between the two, Olga will ask you to jump onto her back.
You’ll find that her shell has three plots of land similar to the ones you find inside your Field/Garden.
You can then plant trees, rocks, and nodes in any of these plots in order to harvest later.
Once you’re done planting, Olga will go underwater and you will pop up once the items you placed are ready for harvesting.
After that, Astrid will talk to you again and end the request.
Bars of Gold
Next up, Astrid will request a Foundry building to be built on your ship.
If you already have the hobbyist blueprint upgrade at this point, then this building is already unlocked.
Building it requires these materials:
- 10 Coals
- 10 Oak Planks
Once built, Astrid will head inside and teach you how to use the Foundry. Otherwise, our Foundry Guide also includes a walkthrough for this minigame.
The request will end after Astrid sees you using the machine.
This request triggers once you get a letter in your mailbox from Olga.
Upon opening the letter, you’ll get a new location to visit (Iwashima Countryside), as well as the blueprint for Astrid’s Bungalow.
Start by building the bungalow on the ship, which requires:
- 12 Slates
- 12 Linen Fabrics
You can also visit our guide to Astrid’s Bungalow for more in-depth information. Once built, Astrid will thank you and advance the request.
Next up, head to Iwashima Countryside located at X: -64, Y: 16 (to the left of Albert’s Shipyard).
Once you’re on the island, head right and talk to Astrid, who will request you to ask around for clues.
So walk right again and talk to the first spirit on the bridge.
She will say the next location you need to visit is Furogawa, so report to Astrid and head to the island.
Once you’re on Furogawa, talk to the first spirit you see. Then report back to Astrid.
She will then ask to go back to the ship.
Back on the ship, you’ll get another letter from Olga, which mentions her sister Masha.
You’ll then need to sail towards Masha, located at X: -91, Y: 138, in the winter side of the Hummingberg Region.
Note: To visit Masha, you will need the Icebreaker Boat Improvement, which you can learn about in our Boat Improvements guide.
Once Astrid meets Masha, they will gossip for a bit before you learn that Astrid’s husband is in Loneberg.
Luckily this island is close by, just on the top right portion of where Masha is located.
Sail towards Loneberg and talk to the tall purple spirit you see standing near the Raccoon Shop.
He will immediately come with you back to the ship and reveal his true form in the bow.
Astrid and Giovanni will then talk, and the request will end as the two get together.
I Have My Doubts
Once you finish Giovanni’s “Indiscreet Shopping” and “Indiscreet Meeting” requests, Astrid will talk to you and ask to look around the ship for her husband.
Then simply wait around at night and you’ll notice that Giovanni will disappear. Report this to Astrid the next morning and end the request.
Astrid will then show you a letter addressed to Giovanni from another woman, along with a new location: Oxbury.
Note that before you can visit this island, you will first need the Rock Destroyer Boat Improvement. And we have details on this in our same boat upgrades guide.
If you already have the upgrade, then head right to the island at X: 233, Y: 18.
Once you’re there, walk right to find Giovanni meeting with another woman. The request will end right after that.
The morning after the prior request, Astrid will talk to you again and she will ask whether or not Giovanni is cheating on her.
You can tell her the truth or lie, but the only difference is the achievement you’ll get afterwards.
Next, talk to Giovanni and tell him that Astrid wants him out of the house.
After that you’ll just have to wait until Astrid is ready to talk to you in order to end the request.
A Second Wind
Astrid will give you this request after Giovanni leaves for the Everdoor.
Thankfully, this request is simple. All you need to do is give Astrid space for the next 6 days.
Of course, make sure you don’t forget to feed and hug her to keep her mood up.
Once the 6 days are done, Astrid will talk to you again and ask to be taken to the Everdoor. This ends the request.
Lovers for Life
With this request, Astrid will want to be taken to the Everdoor.
This is the same process as previous spirits. Just sail on over to the Everdoor and ride with Astrid on the dinghy.
Then Astrid will give a final hug before disappearing.
If she’s the fifth spirit that you take to the Everdoor, you will meet Hades the Owl again, prompting you to do the same platforming event to reveal more details about Stella’s life.
If not, then you will find yourself back on the ship afterwards.
Astrid’s spirit flower can be found on her bed, and this ends her complete questline.
During her life, Astrid (alongside Giovanni) acted as surrogate grandparents to Stella.
Of course, Astrid also enjoys getting hugs like other Spirits, as well as her favorite food (Noodle Soup).
When she’s in a good mood, her perks include harvesting ore and fishing for you. She will also use the foundry once it’s built.
Her food preferences are:
- Favorite Food: Noodle Soup
- Likes: Plain food, soup
- Dislikes: Fine dining food and sugary food
Astrid doesn’t introduce any event or mini-game of her own. But she does introduce you to the Turtle Sisters that you can use to multiply resources as much as you want.
She also teaches you how to operate the Foundry, which is one of the trickier buildings to use in Spiritfarer.
