The Deadly Pulsar Rays are a late-game location-based event that Elena will introduce to you as part of her challenges.

Similar to the regular Pulsar Ray event, this challenge will also yield Pulsar Ore, which can be utilized in a number of upgrades once turned into Pulsar Ingots.

Our guide here will provide an in-depth breakdown of everything you need to help you succeed.

While the regular Pulsar Rays event is introduced by Bruce & Mickey, the Deadly Pulsar Rays are instead introduced by Elena through her challenges.

Elena herself can be found at the top of a metal construction platform in Crow’s End Inc. (X: -126, Y: -51), reachable after unlocking the Bounce ability on Oxbury (X: 233, Y: 18).

Simply talk to her to get her aboard the ship.

Once there, follow and complete her requests until you get to the “Elena’s Dharma” quest.

During this request, Elena will ask you to complete three challenges, one of which is completing the Deadly Pulsar Rays event.

To start, sail to the location (X: 194, Y: 127) and interact with Bruce & Mickey.

Playing the Minigame

Essentially, it’s just a harder variant of the Pulsar Rays event. So this minigame should feel familiar.

Rays of light will start going around the ship, and you will need to hit them head-on to earn Pulsar Ore.

This time, however, you will need to collect at least 1/3 of the rays before the time runs out.

The pulsar rays also change directions more often, and a higher number of rays will appear at the ship.

Here are some tips to help you succeed:

  1. Make a flat surface at the top space of your ship to run around. Pulsar rays often spawn at flat surfaces so you should be able to catch them easier here.
  2. Connect that flat surface to the ground with a zipline for easier access.
  3. Use the light burst and bounce abilities to catch them easier.
  4. It’s better to wait for closer spawns than chasing pulsar rays that are already far away.

With these tips in play, you should be able to finish this challenge after a couple of tries.
