Giovanni is another spirit that you will have to recruit onto your ship. But before you can recruit him, you will also need to have Astrid on your ship beforehand.

We’ll walk you through where to find Giovanni and provide a step-by-step guide to his complete quest line. We’re also including his characteristics, mood factors, and interests.

How To Get Giovanni

Finding Giovanni at Loneberg.

As mentioned above, you can only get Giovanni after Astrid (his partner) is already on-board.

From there, just follow Astrid’s questline until you reach the “Humble Abode” request, where you will have to go to Loneberg. This island requires the icebreaker boat improvement.

Here you’ll find Giovanni, who will automatically join you after talking to him briefly.

Indiscreet Shopping

Shortly after joining you aboard, Giovanni will talk to you with his first request.

This includes going to Bottom Line Corp. (where you first found Astrid) and buying chocolates from the Raccoon Store there.

Once you’re back in Bottom Line Corp., visit the Raccoon Shop and buy a Box of Chocolates for 1000 Glims. Giovanni will be delighted by this, so give it to him.

Doing this ends the request.

Indiscreet Meeting

Giovanni asking you to visit a new location.

Next up, Giovanni will give you directions to a new island you need to visit: Ambertown Park.

Before you can visit this island, however, you will first need to visit Albert’s Shipyard in order to get the Rock Destroyer Boat Improvement.

This particular upgrade requires:

10 Aluminum Ingots
8 Marbles
6 Fireglows
2 Spirit Flowers
1,700 Glims

Ambertown Park location in relation to Albert’s Shipyard.

Once you have the upgrade, you’ll be able to break through the rock barrier lining the map’s east-side and head to Ambertown Park at X: 216, Y: -72.

Enter the park and walk left to find the rose bush.

After arriving, head up the ladder and talk to Giovanni.

Then head inside the park gates and walk left until you find a rose bush. Interact with the rose bush to get the flowers, and give it to Giovanni after.

Once you’re back on the ship, Giovanni will hand his obol to you and end the request.

A Place for Strangers

After Astrid kicks him out, Giovanni will talk to you and ask for a Lounge he can sleep in.

To unlock the Lounge building, you will first need the Expert Blueprint Station, which in itself requires:

10 Iron Ingots
10 Wool Fabrics
1,000 Glims

Then after getting that upgrade, the Lounge will be available in your blueprint station, which you can build using these materials:

10 Ash Planks
10 Zinc Ingots

Building Giovanni’s Lounge.

Once the Lounge is built, Giovanni will approach you and end the request right after.

Giovanni will talk to you again after building the Lounge and end the request.

One Last Drink for the Road

Shortly after getting the Lounge, Giovanni will request to be taken to the Everdoor.

Shortly after building him the Lounge, Giovanni will talk to you again and finally ask to be taken to the Everdoor.

So sail towards the Everdoor location in the middle of the map as usual.

The usual rowing animation with the spirit will play, and Giovanni will ask for a final hug before leaving.

If Giovanni is the fifth spirit that you took the Everdoor, you will meet Hades again, and you will go through the same short platforming event.

Note: During this Hades platforming event, all you need to do is follow the purple butterflies and platform your way up to meet Hades the Owl.

Otherwise, you will simply find yourself back on the ship again after Giovanni leaves. You will find his Spirit Flower on the second floor couch of Astrid’s Bungalow.

This also ends Giovanni’s complete storyline.

Characteristics

Much of Giovanni’s requests center around his unfaithfulness.

Aside from acting as a surrogate grandparent to Stella, Giovanni is also Astrid’s unfaithful partner.

Despite that, Giovanni remained sweet and caring to Stella, and will love plenty of hugs.

When he’s in a good mood he will give you jewels. But he doesn’t have any other perks to provide.

His food preferences are:

Favorite food: Beef Fondue
Likes: Stimulants, Fine Dining Food
Dislikes: Carbs, any dish with eggs

Giovanni will also introduce you to the Meteor Shower event, where you can collect comet rocks for resources.
