Gold Dragon Event Guide + Tips (Spiritfarer)

Mining the Gold Dragon for Gold Ore (Spiritfarer)

The Gold Dragon event is a minigame that you’ll have to complete later in the game.

As part of Elena’s challenges, the Gold Dragon is easily one of the toughest minigames that the game will offer.

To help you complete this challenge, our guide will provide an in-depth breakdown of everything you need to know, including some tips & tricks to clear this event easily.

Unlocking the Minigame

Unlike the three previous dragons, the Gold Dragon is instead introduced by Elena as part of her questline.

Elena herself is found atop a construction platform on Crow’s End Inc. (X: -126, Y: -51), and you can reach her after getting the Bounce ability on Oxbury (X: 233, Y: 18).

Once she’s aboard the ship, just follow her quest line until you reach the “Elena’s Dharma” request.

She’ll introduce you to three challenges — the first of which is to defeat the Gold Dragon found at (X: 120, Y: 111) in under six minutes.

Minigame Details

Since defeating the Gold Dragon is timed, you will need to be precise with your platforming in order to conquer this challenge.

As such, here are some tips to keep in mind:

  1. Dragon head nodes can easily be mined with minimal strength, helping you save time.
  2. Every other gold node only requires moderate strength to be mined, saving you time.
  3. Avoid overshooting your target platform by dashing before jumping.
  4. Position a high spot from the ship and glide from there to land on hard-to-reach places.
  5. You can reach platforms from the water by jumping and then dashing.
  6. Take advantage of the dash + double jump combination.
The Gold Dragon will have plenty of instances where you need to cover large distances via dashing / Spiritfarer

By following these tips and with enough practice, you should be able to complete Elena’s request and beat the Gold Dragon.

What’s more, Elena adds an extra minute for each time you fail to beat it under the allotted time, making future tries easier.

Beating the Gold Dragon will net you a good chunk of Gold Ore.
