Mock Gruel is one of the dishes in Spiritfarer that falls under the acquired taste category. It uses milk and sawdust as ingredients.
What You Need
To make Mock Gruel, you will need three things:
- Improved Kitchen
- 1 Milk (Dairy)
- 1 Sawdust
You can get the Kitchen Improvement blueprint from Atul’s “Big Stove” request, allowing you to make dishes with two ingredients.
How To Get Milk
Sail towards Albert’s Shipyard and get yourself the Master Blueprint Station if you don’t have it yet.
Getting this upgrade unlocks the Cow Stall, and you need to build that to obtain milk. We have a guide dedicated to the Cow Stall if you need details on how to get all of the materials.
Once built, you’ll find that it already comes with a cow inside. And you can interact with the cow to get 3 bottles of milk each time.
To get more milk, you need to feed the cow with fruits, vegetables, and grains.
How To Get Sawdust
To get Sawdust, head inside your Sawmill and put in any logs that you have in your inventory. Then simply play the wood-cutting minigame, done by tracing the yellow lines on the wood.
Regardless of how good you did with the minigame, each piece you cut will still give you sawdust. You can find these units of sawdust in your inventory under the wood tab.
Note: If you don’t have the Sawmill yet, our full Sawmill Guide covers all the materials and details on how to use the building.
How To Cook Mock Gruel
Take the ingredients to the kitchen oven to start the cooking process.
Put the ingredients into the kitchen oven, and when the timer finishes counting down, interact with the oven to get your dish. This should only take a few seconds to cook.
Once it’s done, you can give Mock Gruel to these spirits:
- Atul
- Gustav
- Bruce & Mickey
Otherwise, you can also sell this dish to any of the Raccoon shops for 215 Glims.
