Quartz Dragon Event Guide (Spiritfarer)

The Quartz Dragon event is a minigame that the spirit Summer will introduce to you as part of her quest line. During this event, you will combine both mining and platforming, with each run yielding a healthy supply of quartz to be used for upgrades and facilities.

Our guide will teach you everything you need to know about this minigame.

Unlocking the Minigame

During the request “An Old Acquaintance,” Summer will first tell you about her recurring visions, which makes her restless.

Because of this, Summer will then mark a location on your map (X: -24, Y: 75) and then ask you to sail there.

Moving forward, each dragon location will be marked on the map with the corresponding color to indicate what dragon it is.

Upon arriving, the surroundings will turn violet and Summer will be waiting by the bow of the ship, along with the head of the Quartz Dragon.

Interact with Summer to start the minigame.

Minigame Details

Lasting for about 80 seconds, the goal of the minigame is to “mine” all of the nodes protruding from the back of the dragon. You can do this by platforming on top of the dragon and using your pickaxe on any mining node.

Given that this is the first dragon you encounter, this minigame should be fairly easy.

There’s also no strict time limit, and you’ll end up with a good chunk of Quartz ore after every run.

Once you hit the final node on the head of the dragon, Stella will automatically jump back to her ship (this goes the same for all dragons).

The Quartz dragon also appears in two locations, helpful for farming:

• X: -24, Y: 65
• X: -172, Y: 45

Once Summer passes through the Everdoor, you can start any dragon event by sailing to one location and interacting with the door of her home.

Quartz Usage

In terms of construction, quartz is only used in the Loom improvement (8 quartz, 10 maple logs).

However, Quartz is also turned into Silica Powder via the Crusher, where it can be used in more ship upgrades and facilities. This includes:

Once Stella gets the Improved Tools ability, each Quartz node from the Quartz Dragon also has a high chance of also producing 1 Citrine.
