The Sunsweet Flower is a special crop that you can only grow after a series of side quests and in-game events. It actually plays an important role in your life as a resident of Mineral Town, so don’t take it for granted!

After you unlock the initial Sunsweet Flower seeds by completing the Preserved Flower Event, more seeds will be available for purchase at the General Store.

The Preserved Flower Event

This particular event is a very important prerequisite for marriage. If you want to date a villager then you’ll need to finish this quest, which gives you access to Sunsweet Flower seeds upon completion.

These are the triggers for the Preserved Flower Event:

You have seen a marriage candidate’s blue heart event, or it’s Autumn 1st of your first year in Mineral Town
It is between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM
It is not Sunday or Tuesday

When you exit your farmhouse, Jeff will talk to you and ask you for a favor. You’ll end up in the General Store with Basil, where he explains the legend of the Sunsweet Flower.

After the scene ends, the Nature Sprites will approach you and take you to the Secret Forest, where you discover a Sunsweet Flower. You should then return to the General Store and present it to Jeff and Basil.

When the cutscene is completed, Basil will return to the farm and give you a packet of Sunsweet Flower seeds. Jeff will also let you know that they’re finally available at his store!

You can now buy Sunsweet Flower seeds from Jeff for 1,000 G each.

Sunsweet Flower Uses

Sunsweet Flowers that you grow from seeds work just like any other regular wildflower – you can sell, gift, or cook them.

The Sunsweet Flower’s significance comes from its other form as the Preserved Flower, which is a token given in Mineral Town when you want to date someone.

The Preserved Flower can be bought from the General Store for 1,000 G after completing the Preserved Flower Event. The Sunsweet Flower cannot be used as a substitute when asking a marriage candidate to date you.

How To Sell Sunsweet Flowers

Zack (Shipping Bin)

Sunsweet Flowers and other crops can usually be sold to Zack via the Shipping Bin. Just drop your produce into the box before 5 PM to automatically sell them.

It should be noted that the price for Sunsweet Flowers will not increase depending on the quality. Each Sunsweet Flower can be sold for 10 G.

Huang

You can also sell Sunsweet Flowers directly to Huang if you prefer.

He will actually pay you a higher price for crops that are not in season. For Autumn crops, you’ll get an additional 12.5% during Spring and 20% in Summer and Winter. In Autumn, Huang will only offer you the regular shipping price for Sunsweet Flowers.
