How To Get & Use the Dowsing Machine in Pokémon ORAS

Wearing the Dowsing Machine on Route 110 (Pokémon Alpha Sapphire)

You’ll get the Dowsing Machine from your rival after you defeat them in a battle on Route 110. This battle is part of the main story, so the Dowsing Machine is an unmissable key item.

But before you can get the Dowsing Machine, you must complete the following requirements in Slateport City:

  • Deliver the Devon Parts to Captain Stern
  • Obtain the Contest Costume, the Contest Pass, and the Pokéblock Kit from Lisia

You’ll use the Dowsing Machine to find invisible items scattered across the map.

Obtaining the Dowsing Machine (Step-by-Step)

After you complete the above requirements & after you receive the Contest items from Lisia, head north to Slateport’s northern exit. You should arrive at Route 110.
