How To Get Dragon Fangs in Pokémon ORAS

In the basement room of Meteor Falls (Pokémon Alpha Sapphire)

Dragon Fangs can only be obtained as held items taken from wild Bagons or Druddigons, who both have a 5% chance of carrying one. You can either catch these Pokémon to check if each one has a held item, or you can steal Dragon Fangs from them with the move Thief.

Both Pokémon can be found in Meteor Falls:

  • Bagon can be encountered in a basement room through standard walking. You will need both HM03 Surf and HM05 Waterfall to access this location.
  • Druddigon can be encountered anywhere in the cave, but only through the DexNav and after obtaining the National Pokédex.

Dragon Fangs Farming

The easiest way to obtain Dragon Fangs is by stealing them from a wild Bagon using a Pokémon that knows the move Thief.

Through just walking around, there is a 35% chance of encountering a Bagon in a small room in the basement floor of Meteor Falls.

But before going to the location, make sure you have a Pokémon that can use both HM03 Surf and HM05 Waterfall.

Tip: You can obtain TM46 Thief simply by talking to a Team Magma/Aqua grunt inside the Oceanic Museum in Slateport City.

To reach the basement room:

Step 1: Fly to Meteor Falls. Then inside the cave, go west until you reach the body of water where you can surf.

Stealing Dragon Fangs

In this basement room, walk around until you encounter a Bagon.

Each wild Bagon has a 5% chance of carrying a Dragon Fang, so it can take some time to farm any of them.

While in battle, use a Pokémon with the Thief move to instantly obtain the item if a Bagon is holding it. Without this move, you will have to capture each Bagon you run into and then manually check if each one has a Dragon Fang.

Repeat this process until you get as many Dragon Fangs as you’d like.

What Do Dragon Fangs Do?

The Dragon Fang is a held item that boosts the power of the holder’s Dragon-type moves by 20%.

Note: In Generation II and III, the Dragon Fang only increased the power of Dragon-type moves by 10%. But from Generation IV onwards, the power boost was increased to 20%.

Incidentally, you can also obtain a Dragon-type TM move (TM02 Dragon Claw) in the same basement room where you can find wild Bagon. Just head to the northernmost part of the room across the water.
