There is only one Dragon Fang in Crystal, and you’ll get it deep in the Dragon’s Den behind the Blackthorn Gym.

Follow the outer borders of the cave counterclockwise, and you’ll eventually find the Dragon Fang. Pokémon with Surf and Whirlpool are required to reach the item’s location.

Note: The Dragon’s Den is blocked off when you first arrive in Blackthorn City. Defeat Gym Leader Clair at the local Gym to open the way into the cave.

Using the Dragon Fang

The Dragon Fang is a held item that increases the Power of Dragon-type moves by 10%.

Paired with Dragoníte’s Dragon-type STAB damage and the Dragon Fang, a powerful move like DragonBreath can be decisive.

Non-Dragon-type Pokémon that can learn DragonBreath, like Aerodactyl, can also greatly benefit. It can be a great way to counter Champion Lance’s Dragon-type team.
