Pokémon Crystal Magnet: Location + Uses

You can get a Magnet by talking to Sunny, one of the Week Siblings.

On Sundays, Sunny can be found near three Apricorn trees in a clearing situated in the northeastern area of Route 37.

But to access Route 37 for the first time you must remove the Sudowoodo blocking Route 36 with the SquirtBottle.

Prerequisites

To remove the Sudowoodo from Route 36, you must first:

  1. Defeat Leader Whitney at Goldenrod Gym.
  2. Talk to the Flower Shop Girl (Floria) near the odd tree blocking Route 36.
  3. Get the SquirtBottle from Floria’s sister in the Flower Shop right of Goldenrod Gym.
  4. Use the SquirtBottle on the odd tree to wake up Sudowoodo, then defeat or capture it.

With Sudowoodo gone, you can enter Route 37 and reach Ecruteak City.

Getting the Magnet

Starting at the Pokémon Center in Ecruteak City is faster, but if this is your first time you’ll be coming up towards Ecruteak.

But from the Ecruteak Center, head southwest toward Route 37.

Turn southeast at the first opportunity and jump down the nearby ledge.

You’ll find Sunny hanging around in a clearing with three Apricorn trees. Talk to him to get the Magnet.

Magnet Uses

The Magnet is a held item that increases the Power of Electric-type moves like
Thunder and Zap Cannon by 10%.

It’s perfect for powerful Electric-type Pokémon in offensive roles like Magneton, Ampharos, and Raikou.
