Facing a phone in Goldenrod Radio Tower

Phone Numbers in Pokémon Crystal can be divided into two groups by their acquisition: Trainers and Non-Trainers.

Non-Trainers give you their phone number at a certain point in the game or when some conditions are met. Since they’re not battleable trainers, you don’t need to fight them to get their numbers

  • Incoming: Informs you of purchases made with savings.

On the other hand, Trainers only give you their phone number after beating them in a Pokémon Battle.

After the battle, you need to talk to them again to register their contact.
