Buena’s Password Guide + Blue Card Prizes (Pokémon Crystal)

Near Buena in the Goldenrod Radio Tower (Pokémon Crystal)

Buena’s Password is a radio game show you can start playing as soon as you reach Goldenrod City. You have to tune into the show to get a unique password, and then if you say that password to Buena in Goldenrod City you’ll earn points. These points can be exchanged for prizes like Vitamins or Rare Candies.

But you need to get a Blue Card from Buena to store the points you earn. Buena will happily give you this Blue Card the first time you speak to her at the Goldenrod Radio Tower.

You can listen to Buena’s show on your PokéGear Radio between 6PM and midnight to learn each show’s password. You’ll be able to tune in from anywhere in Johto as long as it’s within the right time.

Prerequisites

You’ll need to first get the Radio Card at Goldenrod Radio Tower before you can listen to radio shows.

Once you have the Radio Card then you can tune into Buena’s Password from anywhere in Johto – her show airs between 6PM and midnight.

But you’ll also need to get the Blue Card key item to start collecting points from her show.

You can participate in Buena’s Password to earn another point once a day, so this is a great mini-game to keep up with once you reach Goldenrod City.

Tip: You can get Buena’s phone number by maxing out your Blue Card at 30 points. No points will be spent when asking Buena for her phone number, although this also doesn’t really serve a purpose since her phone number doesn’t give you much.

Getting Buena’s number is mostly done for bragging rights and completionism.

But she might share some interesting tips about Goldenrod City if you try calling her!
